Vote Orryyrro

Lynch all liars?
Have you written it yourself, Orry?

Vitek: Have you written it yourself, Orry?
No, Joe wrote it.

@NotFrenchYet: I can explain, but I won't yet, as I feel my explaining will be harmful to town, however, if the majority asks, knowing that my response will harm the town, I will answer.

You've already declared yourself vanilla town.
Unless you were holding back, I'm really struggling to see how you revealing anything would be harmful to town.

This sounds to me like an attempt to avoid having to explain anything.

I would have preferred a nice request at my explanation to a vote at this point.

A vote is harder to ignore.
It is also an upgrade on my FOS &, as such represents a deepening of my suspicions.

So what you posted was directly quoted from your PM? Because I can't see how that can be true without breaking rule #9.

I vote in favour of you explaining.
I'll assume the other 2 voting for me want me to explain as well, so:

I'm actually the cop, but I'm post restricted to claim vanilla, and then post the rhyme if anyone is suspicious of the claim or wants more info. Breaking the restriction, as I am now, means I won't be able to use my powers tonight, which is why I would have preferred to not explain.

Since I've already broke my post restriction, I might as well say that night 1 I discovered that Baz is town.

OK, so you claim town, who are not supposed to lie.
You then change it to cop, showing that you DID lie.
you then name Baz as Town.
Have we found 2 of the scum already?

Not so fast!

Baziliek was the first to notice the PM quote issue with Orry's first claim.

If Baz is scum, why would he have pointed out such a major slip-up?

-> Baz is town. This can be logically inferred without investigation.

That crossed my mind too... if Orryyrro flips scum I think we'd definitely need to take a closer look at Baz.
On the other hand though, Joe is a git and Orryyrro could be telling the truth here.
But then again, this could be a very desperate sounding lie.
Argh.
@Orry: any flavour with this one?

I'm going to read through D1 again with the 2nd claim in mind and see if it sticks...

NotFrenchYet: @Orry: any flavour with this one?
Yes. I'm the king and I put on the beggar disguise to try and find out who killed my wife. In order to throw suspicion from myself I pretend to be insane, hence the second poem's requirement of being posted when my role is under suspicion. I say second poem because I also have a poem talking about who I, King Fartinbras, am.

...I see at least one problem with the flavour, but there's something much more obvious I need to point out.

JoeSapphire: 9. Do not quote or paraphrase too closely any PMs you receive from the mod.
Copying from a PM breaks rule 9.
Posting the first poem, copied from the PM if you are telling the truth, still breaks rule 9.
You have not broken rule 9.

The way I see it, there are two possible scenarios here:

1) Joe is lying.
Either we have a bastard mod on our hands, who instructs players to break rules and then tells everyone else they have done nothing wrong, or...

2) Orry is lying.
Again.

@Everyone:
Are there any other scenarios that could explain this situation?

NotFrenchYet: Are there any other scenarios that could explain this situation?
I already explained it, one of my post restrictions was that I had to post the Poor Blind Jack poem when my role was under scrutiny (other restrictions being not allowed to talk about post restrictions, and not being able to claim anything but Poor Blind Jack (vanilla))

If my post restriction was to post that poem (which is different than the poem with my "real" flavour) verbatim, it wouldn't break a rule to quote it from my PM, would it? So, in other words, I was told I had to post that poem, lest I not be allowed to perform any night actions that night. (in other words investigations, such as the one I will not be allowed to do tonight since I broke my restrictions)

Now that this info is out in the open, how does that affect days going forward?
Are you now effectively vanilla?
What will you have to do to be allowed to investigate again?
