True... Everyone was playing so tightly... I'd be interested to see what everyone else made of the night's happenings. I think we need to open up a little more if we're going to get anywhere this time.

For my part, after changing my approach, I now have deductions about both Xyem and Orry, although the former one will most likely not lead to anything serious... The latter, however, might be significant.

I'm inclined to think it was a muddy water kill, as you said, Vitek. If he was onto something, it's far too much of an obvious move. Is that what they want us to think? Well, he also only made 3 votes in the whole of yesterday, 2 of which were RVS. Even if his suspicions were too close for comfort, he wasn't voting to back them up, therefore wasn't directing attention, and therefore wasn't a threat. To anyone.

Well, instead of random comments, I think I'm going to give out some things that were floating through my mind that felt scummy as I went over them, and people I'm suspicious of.

Baz and Xyem: On the surface, this seems like a pretty innocent argument. One that went nowhere, and stood out as taking up a lot of time that we didn't have. This could have been a scummy time wasting manuever, designed to push us into the rush that we had at the end, hoping to off someone random. One or both may be Mafia here.

Muttly: Yeah, I know, he was fixated on me the whole time, but something about that doesn't sit right. The fixation, the lack of anything to defend against, the sudden silence when I did defend myself, and the reply that he'd 'Renge on TB for a bit', makes me think that either he was looking for a random target and is pushing me, or might be a lyncher. If lyncher, then it's possible that he'd be willing to interrupt a more serious scumhunt to see me lynched.

NotFrenchYet: This might be the weirdest of the things I thought over, and it's well open to interpretation. But, I have to say, especially towards the end, I found the step back and observe approach to feel kinda scummy, using new player status as an excuse. It's something that a new scum player can pull off, and I don't think it should say unsaid.

Everyone else really stayed under the radar (which isn't hard, it was a fairly short day 1), and I am very curious as who the other mason is, and if they were actually town.

You didnt mount any "defense". Mostly because my accusations are based on feelings as most of day one would be and frankly, how does one defend "I feel your scum" (but lets not open that timeline can of worms again). But no one seemed to like the RP touches, so I am fine dropping that. And now we have flimsy data to work with instead of urges. So I am happy to work with that.

Aren't mason buddies always the same alignment?
If not it would be far to easy for a town mason to out a scum mason buddy.
On the assumption that the buddy is town, it would be useful to get any info gleaned into the public domain, but I think it's a bad idea to out the mason.
He (assuming that there were just 2 of them) is now effectively town vanilla.
There are reasons that they don't tend to shout it out!

Twighlight, you're one of the more experienced players, & one of the strogest town reads I have so far.

It's possible that they are town/scum and just not told anything other then 'This is your mason partner'. I'm not saying it's common (haven't read too many games), but I've seen it done before.

Not really prompting them to out themselves, just opening a can of worms instead of letting things go nilly willy, just trying something different since we don't have much to go on right now.

Re Baz/Xyem: This is what I was trying to suggest with #148 onwards. I note Xyem hasn't turned his keen eye on anyone else yet, and there's been no hint of lingering friction even after it turned personal. Definitely suspicious.

Incidentally, that post restriction code also finally clicked into place - every 'ba' combination has to come out 'baa'. Baa! Black sheep, anyone?

Re myself: Yes, that's a fair observation. I can only reiterate that both real life and inexperience conspired against me at that point. :/ (To avoid a recurrence, during this night phase I did a hell of a lot of reading, both of previous games and of the wiki.)

Personally I was thinking of looking at the voters who supported Bas quickly. First being me. Yes, I am aware of that. But if you havent figured out yet I am a tad bloodthirsty, well then I dont know what to tell you. I wanted someone lynched day 1 as i thought it was the best course for town, hence my changed vote to O since I also felt he was possible scum.

One person who did stick out for my was Sirprimalform. I thought the whole "I was about to remove my vote..." seems very setup to me. Along the lines of "I was going to pull my vote but didnt get to do it in time, woe is me that townie got lynched!" Again, just a feeling, but a strong one for me.
