I agree, at this pace we're going to be redoing day 1 almost completely from scratch.

Pazzer, here's the fault I see. Going from experience, we're going to see one of two things:

We're randomly going to lynch a townie -> This leads us to not knowing who the mafia are because at this point the slightest thing is going to be used as something to rally behind, and we may or may not get a claim from the person depending on how close to the deadline we're at. Even if we get a claim, it's probably not going to matter because you have to get most of us to change votes.

We randomly catch a mafia or anti-town -> It's possible, but there's nothing to learn from this lynch because we're all panicking to get a lynch in that it's going to be a matter of who is on when the lynch occurs and who isn't that's going to vote or react.

I'm not comfortable with a nolynch either, but I don't see where our options are. Right now the town is highly vulnerable to the mafia being suggestive and pointing their fingers at a target. Hell, I'm willing to bet that there's a mafia member right now on the people with the highest vote counts, but I'm not sure and have no way of knowing.

Only thing I can do is this at this stage Joe, please give this active game more time to make our decision.

I agree the best outcome would be more time. As at least there will be some reason for the lynch.

I have to admit, I'm glad to see others voicing desire for the deadline to be extended. There is little point in playing when the town lynches aren't really being decided by the players.

Add my vote to the deadline being postoned/extended/abolished.

I'm also for extending the deadline, but in case it does not happen, I will base my decision on the data that we do have, i.e. voting patterns so far -- looking at how and when people switch votes, how wagons are formed and the general flow of votes. The person who appears the scummiest in their voting patterns at the moment would be LittleRabbit, but as she's new to this and first days can be quite confusing, I'm willing to let it slide for now. Second place is a tie between SirPrimalform and Orryyrro, and random.org says I should pick the latter.

Of which you will have no more tomorrow but one less town member. The first vote is always going to be conjecture as unless you are assuming fellow players are idiots, no one is going to give away that they are scum right away, it will only be a "feeling".

So, we let day one slide, scum takes somebody out, and we are at day two with no additional knowledge save who was totally honest day 1. A bad decision is better than no decision at all. In my opinion its a mistake to let this day slide, so I will keep my vote as is.

I don't think this is the right way to go about this, lest we end up in an eternal stalemate. We create the evidence through our activities, which includes voting and lynching.

It would be wrong to just pile up votes on someone because a deadline is looming, because votes cast that way have little information value. But without piling up votes on someone, we will never ever make any progress. We've been here before.

Try and convince me, why Orryyrro? The fact that one of the reasons you're voting for him instead of me because Random.org said so doesn't fill me with confidence in you.

No, I won't vote on someone who is not suspicous at all just to get claim out of him/her. We can just mass claim to make it faster if you want proceed this way. You are saying we shouldn't someone just because we can instead we should lynch someone just because we can.
I am all for discussion and for applying pressure on someone who deserves it somehow but not on random persons.

And Orryyrro most certainly deserves it. Give me some time, I'm currently refreshing my notes and building up whatever flimsy excuse for a case I can.

There are a lot of posts, but not many that say much.
This makes it difficult to get a good reading & build a case that is anything but extremely flimsy.

I commented that Orry has been criticised for being very quiet & is now more vocal.
I have been very vocal & seen my words twisted into a case against me.
Therefore I am trying to be more of a listener than a shouter this time....

So what do I have against Orryyrro?

He's participating by not participating. As you can see, Rodzaju considers him vocal, yet going back through all of his posts, you'll notice they are largely devoid of information. It's a smokescreen, an illusion of activity, behind which there is lurking and inadequately explained voting.

His most active period in this game? RVS, talking about turkeys. Once his mandatory RVS vote for Rodzaju was out of the way, Orry never started pushing a new wagon, always only joined ones already going (post #39 for NotFrenchYet, started by xyem; post #67 for Pazzer, previously pushed by SirPrimalform and TwilightBard; post #164 for xyem, started by me and then pushed by NotFrenchYet, SirPrimalform and Littlerabbit). Also note the synergies in there, which might be useful should Orry flip scum.

A noticeable number of Orry's posts almost completely lack any relevant content (#111, #114). Towards the end of this thread (#164+), his contributions are primarily only insisting on sticking to "correct", i.e. pro-town procedure, which is a simple and efficient way to subconsciously implant the idea of him being town. I will refer to Robbeasy-scum in M7, who delighted in doing just that. Finally, his behaviour lately has been slightly erratic, one moment willing to push xyem to what he (reportedly) believed was L-2, the next allowing the possibility of voting nolynch because of lack of information.

So what we have here is a decent scumtell (voting patterns), utilising two known mafia strategies (participating with relatively empty posts, insisting on correct procedure), somewhat inconsistent behaviour. While I do have some other cases brewing in my notes, this one is indeed the best of them, I think.
