OMGUS! FOS Vitek!
I tried to read a bit of one of the other games, 10 I think it was. There are like hundreds and hundreds of posts!

SirPrimalform: We're currently in RVS (random vote stage) because no one has any real reason to suspect anyone so we just vote randomly for a while. It's kind of annoying but necessary to start the game.
You say it's necessary, and someone else did as well, but WHY is it necessary? What is the point of it?

And I looked at that tutorial-thingy you linked to. I don't know how much sense it made, but I understood that we are suppose to find the mafias and lynch them. But how do we do that?

This game makes me scratch my head. Which is bad, because then my hand is preoccupied and can't twiddle my mustache.

Mind games, my friend... mind games.

unvote

I'm a little suspicious that two votes just piled up on SPF, but not enough to start pointing fingers yet.

Because otherwise we'd just stand around looking at each other - we have to start discussing somehow, and RVS is one way to do it. Someone might slip up... Vítek's comment about not being able to hide his evil voting actions could be one, but it's kind of obvious, so not really worth pursuing right now. Personally I'm noting that for future reference.

Basically (I'm simplifying hideously): some people will be mafia, and these people will be trying to push the lynches of innocent townies in order to win the game (mafia wins when mafia equals the town in size.) So, they'll be using dodgy logic and tactics in order to push certain lynches. The trick is catching them at it. Or not being caught, if you're mafia. Mind games, as Jefe said.

Of course, since the game has literally just started, there's not very much to go on yet. It should go on for week.s And yes, hundreds of posts is standard. "Reading ability is required to fully enjoy this game"! ;D

I find it funny when they write that on the boxes of games like Phoenix Wright. What would anyone be doing buying a visual novel if they couldn't read?

More to the point, if they couldn't read, how would they know what that message on the box said?

It's a rather useless warning then I suppose.
Oh.. I see certain thread themes here:

Voting then Fos'ing

So they vote before being suspicious of one another? :O

Indeed.. I believe that mafia 9 had more than 1500 posts, not sure about mafia 10 - But thanks to me it at least had huge posts.

So maybe some shorter mafia game? Although which one was the shortest.. Dunno.

Last thing I just noticed: Why does Robbeasy have a mustache?
What's the difference between FoS and voting? I get that voting counts and FoS doesn't, but then if you have an FoS on someone why not just vote for them?

well, after all... it is RVS stage.

This certainly is noteworthy. I am adding you to my scumpile for now.

I always assumed it was aimed at older non-gamer relations buying games for ickle relations... But probably not. That sounds far too sensible... O:)
Hey! Nice try to get us all off topic with a semi-controversal games related discussion of the kind GOGers love to bicker about. You know your audience don't you, town distracting scummy scumbags.

FOS: Everyone discussing video games

(No, but seriously, kids are dumb and need to stop shouting into microphones)
I suppose off topic discussion is one way of keeping mafia thread active over the weekend. Gotta love rvs as you never know what people will come up with.

Haven't kept up with the thread, don't think i'll get a chance to catch up till Monday. Hopefully there won't be a ton of posts between now and then.

RVS is a strange beast, it's sorta like everyone saying hi, by trying to get one another killed. Anyway to get a slip is pretty valid as far as I've seen.

unvote Damuna

(and yes, I can't count the amount of times I muted a game lobby)
