I looked around the forum and couldn't find a post about a similar problem, so I figured I'd make one myself, but I have been known to be blind before, so I'm sorry if this post is redundant.
I recently joined GoG.com to get Fallout: tactics because it is the only game in the franchise I didn't own. I bought it and tried to download it and it kept giving me errors about it being corrupt, so I assumed my download was getting interrupted and decided to try the gog download manager. I downloaded tactics just fine, but now I have two issues.
the first issue is I can't seem to figure out where the downloader puts the downloaded content. I would check the properties for a setting to set the location or something, but that's where my second issue comes in. I can't get the downloader to launch anymore. The process runs, and shows up on my menu bar, but no matter how hard I try I can't seem to find a way to make the window appear so I can see it. If anyone can help it would be vastly appreciated. Thanks!
When you launch the first download, the gog downloader will ask you where to put downloaded files. The default location is "My Documents" folder.
If you have trouble finding downloaded file, you can always do a search for a file named "falllout". Just click Start -> Search -> Search for files and folders (on Win XP).
Thank you for the reply, but I still can't seem to find the downloaded installer, it's not in my documents, and my search doesn't find anything other then the fallout games I already have installed and related material. The real issue I'm having is that I can't get my gog downloader to appear again so that I can use it. the tab on my menu bar appears, the process for the application is running, I just can't see or access the window at all. Any help with that would be appreciated
Thanks!
You can try to uninstall the downloader, and then to install it again. This should fix the missing window. But unfortunately it won't help you to find those missing files. And if your OS can't find them, it looks like you'll have to download them again.
Ok I'm getting a little confused. I uninstalled the downloader, reinstalled, still no window. So I tried uninstalling, then restarting the computer, then reinstalling, thinking maybe that would make a difference, still no window. I'm not sure what's wrong, I'm having no similar issues with anything else (though I don't have any other air applications) and it worked the first time after I downloaded it, so I"m stumped.

I hate to state the obvious, but have you checked the lower righthand corner of the screen to see if the downloader is starting minimized?
Just a thought.
yep, checked that, it's on the menu bar, it just won't restore. when you click the button on the menu bar, it kind of looks like a window starts to maximize for a split second, then goes away, and nothing.
Hi,
i have the same problemt with the downloader. It didn´t appear after having run flawlessly a couple of times .....

Right-click the taskbar button, chose move. Now press any arrow key to lock the cursor to the window, then JUST MOVE the mouse (no clicking) to get your window back on screen.

I doubt this has much to do with the downloader, but for some reason Windows sometimes decides to draw windows outside your desktop boundaries.
Today the same problem started to happen here. gog downloader starts, I can see the little icon next to clock, but its windows just does not appear. I also can not see it in the taskbar, only an icon next to clock.

Uninstalling and reinstalling does nothing. I was downloading the files without the window but now it even does not do that.
