It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

BananaJane: My internet can't download a 1.7 gig file without disconnecting.
Bring the downloader back quickly please.

kalirion: In the mean time, you are using a download manager, right?
No, the download manager doesn't work, you can't add games to it anymore.

I meant a third party download manager like flashget or getright. You can start the download in the browser, copy the URL into the download manager, and use that. Repeat whenever you want to resume the download.

Oh wow I hadn't thought of that. So simple yet such a good idea. Thanks ;)

ghoulyg: Need the downloader back too. I can't download games via Firefox, they keep freezing at 99%.

the_voivod: Do you use any add-ons at all? Have you tried running Firefox in Safe Mode?
Nope, I just reload the titles until the download suddenly works. Might take up to twenty reloads sometimes. But thanks for the tip, I'll try it later on!

This is due the antivirus software. When the exe is complete antivirus will unpack it and scan. It can take VERY LONG with 1+gig files. Unpacking in-memory and scanning that is. Try temporary disabling any resident shield protection or similar just for the duration of the download.

Also it might not hurt to get a browser that can actually resume the download .) For example Opera can (if server supports it). And there must be some plugin for firefox to enable download resume.

Anyway about the downloader, I'd like to see it back. But also I'd like a few more features, like download speed throttling. Sometimes I don't want to download at full speed (all other work stops then). And maybe making it possible to download games you own directly from downloader so you don't need to go to web page? Just ideas :)

p.s. Do you need any help regarding the downloader? Doing what I mentioned should be fairly simple. One programmer for a few weeks... + testing ofc.

And to the people - things like this take some time :) It can be done in 2 days but still, you have to test before the release! That takes a lot of time + squishing bugs.

Indeed the missing downloader is a really anoying problem. Almost a week has passed from the lunch, new games on the pipe, no real downloader to download them. And this should be the end of the beta? All i can do is wait for a fix or use others downloaders... very very sad GOG ;(. I'd like to see less games being published atm and put more efforts on resloving issues about the new GOG.
One of the reasons why I really loved GOG is their downloader.
Makes things so much easier for me when a site has their own downloader.

Hopefully GOG could sort the downloader issue out soon.
I have gigs of games waiting to be played!
Is it too late to ask for the download manager to support addon content?
Downloading with FDM without problems. Maybe should have a warning at the download page that GoG downloader is not working and a link to the downloaders that work.

And I do prefer to use FDM, don't like to have anything from Adobe installed on my PC and I bet a lot of people knows why and those who don't know better keep not knowing.

Adobe sucks

I´m a bit bummed. I just picked up Planescape Torment and was going to download that with the GOG downloader just to find out it wont work on any of my games. Since the size of the PT title, there is no way Im going to download through a browser just to have it die on me after 80% and have to do it all over again. I live in a place where the downloads per moth are capped, and this just screw with that.

Hopefully gog will fix this soon, after last weeks debacle they cant afford to annoy the customers more at the moment.
Guys please fix downloader asap. It is really a pain to donwload everything using browser.
Here is a little tip for people who want to download all their games, have a stable connection and are using firefox.:

-get the "DownThemAll" addon
-navigate to your account
-make sure you use the "list view"
-right-click on an empty space on the page and select "DownThemAll!..."
-choose your download location
-unselect all filters
-write the following in the "Fast filtering" box: /(/0|/1|/2|/3)&

This will try to download content from all the links that end in /0,/1,/2 or /3 (currently no game has more than four parts). It's working really great for me, I get speeds up to 10 MB/s and it beats clicking all those links by hand.

You can also set DTA to skip files that are already downloaded. If you keep all GOG installers in one directory you will not download anything you already have downloaded earlier.

Even if you have no stable connection, you can easily see which games failed to download completely and easily restart them.

This will not download any extra material, unfortunately.

Edit: It's important that you set the following settings in preferences first!
-On the Main Tab: Max concurrent downloads: 1
-On the Advanced tab: Max number of segments per download: 1
The latter is not necessary, since the GOG servers are more than fast enough and not throttled and for the former, you will just fragment your drive by downloading more than one file at a time.

Edit 2: As a request to GOG team: I would love to see the extras being downloadable like this.

This download manager tricks are not working for me.
Tried few of them but no luck. Can't resume any of downloads after pasting new link...
