when i add the games in the downloader it give a message
"No application is associated with this extension"

also i have a question;there is a way to add the games to the downloader WITHOUT downloading them?

i'ts kind of annoying

Awlfas5135: GOG downloader seems to be working fine for me, but I have a suggestion for future versions - some sort of download speed limit selector would be very handy!
Or some sort of priority. Because if you have an empty connection why not fully using it.

Hi, I found an answer to this problem for Firefox in Ubuntu 11.10.

Find the "mimeTypes.rdf" file in your Firefox profile directory. To find the directory, see http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Profiles#w_finding-your-profile-without-opening-firefox

Add the following lines to the end of the file, just before the last line which should say "</RDF:RDF>". So the very last part of the file should look like this:

<RDF:Description RDF:about="urn:scheme:handler:gogdownloader"
/>
<RDF:Description RDF:about="urn:scheme:gogdownloader"
NC:value="gogdownloader">
<NC:handlerProp RDF:resource="urn:scheme:handler:gogdownloader"/>
</RDF:Description>
</RDF:RDF>

Save the file and restart Firefox. Now go to Edit/Preferences and the Applications tab. "gogdownloader" should now be displayed as an application, and you can choose the application to run. Select the script that was provide earlier in the thread, or maybe you can even select GOGDownloader.exe itself, I haven't tried it.

When I clicked the Download button, GOGDownloader.exe launched but no window was displayed. Everything worked fine if I ran GOGDownloader.exe first, though. So for best results, run GOGDownloader.exe before clicking the download button.

So I only just signed up to GOG today, bought a couple of things and downloaded the Downloader in order to... download them. Because on my appalling connection, even a 60MB game is downloading with an estimated time of about two hours (that's what I get for living in the backwoods of middle of nowhere), only... I cannot log in to the installer. When I type in my e-mail and password, it doesn't tell me the incorrect password has been entered, it just pops straight back up with the e-mail/password box and asks me to enter. I've allowed it through the firewall, done everything else I can think of, and yet I still can't just simply sign on to it, or even just connect it online.

Turns out I'm far less computer savvy than I thought. Can anybody help?

GOG.com could at least do so much, that they:

a) show the downloader more prominently
b) for non-Windows users they could offer pre-compiled binaries of the unofficial gogdownloader (the C++ program). It would just require a statically linked binary, if I am not mistaken. Add this for Linux, OSX32 and OSX64 and we would be fine.

For me, it does not work with Wine on OS X.

Am having download issue with" witcher". It won't move to gog downloader and when I go to download from browser it tells me the set up file is corrupt. Need help please.

I cant log in. Every time I filled in my password and mailadress it takes 1 or 2 seconds and then I must enter it again.

I use the latest version of the downloader, changed my password 1 time in a kind without usind numbers and enter in my antivirusprogram that it allows gog to download.

Please help me!

For Opera users :
1 - Press Ctrl+F12 or go in the menu ->stettings -> Preferences
2 - Go in the tab "Advanced"
3 - In the list at your left press on "Programs"
4 - Select the program "gogdownloader" and click on "Edit"
5 - Click on "Open with other application" and change the path of the executor
6 - Press "Ok"
7 - Ready to go

I'm having the same issue as several other users - entering my email and password won't log me in. I also changed my password twice, to no avail. I type in my data and it simply closes and reopens the prompt to enter my email and password.

You are awesome. I finally gave up with opera and started downloading via the browser. I much prefer using the downloader though.
