It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I had bought 13 games, could not download anything, until i discovered in this thread i had to disable avira web guard. Seriously, why don't they put a sticky post with all the known issues? It took me 2 days the get a clue about. This reminds me of the dread Pando downloader in lotro, and makes me shiver. Please GOG make this app work, it's really giving you a bad rep.

Oh and now it's donwloading at like 1MB/s lol

In the past I've always just downloaded from the browser, as my purchases had always been on the small side (under 1 gig, that is, so it could download overnight). Picked up some 'new' games from the interplay sale and installed the latest version of the downloader in order to download some of the larger files in parts.

However, I can't login. I type in my login info, the prompts closes, then reopens again asking for my information. I've already made the downloader a firewall exception. Help?

Edit: Now it's working for some reason. Didn't change a darn thing, just tried again a few hours later. Well, hopefully it won't happen again.

COMPLETELY.
To follow up from a previous post, it seems that GOG have recently relaxed their policy on the download URLs to the point where browsers (and downloaders) can now retrieve (and resume) files.

If this is a deliberate policy change (and not a temporary oversight) then thanks GOG, for listening and taking action!
What I do not really understand is, that, since this is an Adobe AIR application, it should run on OS X. In fact, a previous version did. But with that I can't log in anymore. Where is an actual, functional version, that can be used by OS X users?

Please GOG, can't you finally solve this problem, once and for all? It's going on for months.

This is NOT an Adobe Air application; it is a native Win32 app. The old installer was Air. Sorry.

Really? That's good news.

I have been trying to download IL-Sturmovik since purchasing in April of 2011. I must have tried at least 50 times. I tried the GOG downloader and I also tried downloading it with the browser. Nothing works. If someone has a clue how I can get this game downloaded, give me a response.

PaladinFenris: This is for everyone, who accidentially checked the box "Don't show me this message again" when asked for confirmation of opening the external application GOG Downloader, when you try to add a game to the Downloader in Opera.

I had the same problem, that checking of the box for not showing me this message again gave me some hard minutes with my Opera and GOG-Downloader.

And I got a rather complex, yet simple solution.

Open your "operaprefs.ini" (while Opera is closed) and search for the line(s) with the exact text "gogdownloader" (without the " of course) in it. Delete that exact line(s), save the file and open Opera again... and you should be able to add games to the GOG-Downloader again. But never check that box again. It's either that message box, or you have to download manually (or via another browser).

That additional click was tiresome to me... after searching for about 30 minutes aroud the internet, it now became a very friendly thought, the additional clicking for that download :-)

Hope, I could help some of you!
I need this solution, but for Chrome. Anyone able to help?
I am getting the same error. Log in required. I reset my password to ensure I was typing it right... same problem.

Another issue is that even after I close out GOG downloader, the process gets hung. So every time that I have tried to re- open, or delete it, Ive had to end the "gogdownloader.exe" process first.

Help!
The GOG downloader wont accept my password or my email... i type it in correctly, and it appears blank =/ any solution its getting ridiculous i cant buy 2 games i just bought

Make sure to type the e-mail exactly as it is shown on your profile page. I had that same issue.

Thank you, thank you! I was going crazy trying to figure out how to get my downloader working with Opera again. Your simple solution worked like a charm!
The downloader doesn't work for me.

I downloaded the downloader and have it running on my computer when I click on the "add to GOG.com downloader. It then takes me to a window that pops up saying that I need to download the downloader then " 2. Once you have the Downloader on your computer..." and then nothing else.

I can't download any games.
I suppose this is a stupid question...but why worry about the GOG down loader? I just use the browser to get it all.

the gog downloader has some nice features like error correction/CRC and uses multiple streams to download the required files.
