Yeah, Avira webguard was the culprit for me. I disabled it as i don't really need it anyway. noscript is all that i need in this regard. I should still make a false positive report though as they have labeled gog.com as a scam website...

Got downloader 0.9.0.1372 to work first try with The Witcher, and am about halfway done.

The progress bar shows as light blue, unfinished shows as grey. Two "slices" of grey show in the light blue bar area. Will that be a problem? I selected "all" and am wondering if the grey areas are normal (they seem evenly spaced), just breaks between the different content, or if this is a bad download.

Thanks for any replies.

EDIT: Am now 3/4 the way done and it looks like the grey slices (or breaks) are just further markers for progress.

Have the same "problem", hope it's not a bug/bad download cause it takes me 23 hours to finish the preload. (Goddamn you third world countries!)

Me too, takes a fair while. About 15 hrs for me... So I'm at uni, downloading it through the epic fast net. For some reason it's not counting off my student usage, perhaps cause it's through the downloader, so I figure - why not download it all.
Hey guys, I'm having a problem that you may have experienced. I set up the new downloader but when I go to click on login and it does nothing. And when I queue up a download it will just sit there and do nothing.
Attachments:
Ok i got the same issue as some had with whenever i try to login i get the login field again empty. My connection is perfectly fine

Tried the following:

extra rule for downloader in the Windows Firewall
disabled firewall and virusscanner
windows safemode
used extra folder for downloader where i got all rights (no windows premade folders)
run in administrator mode
internet options on medium and not offline mode
changed password as i thought maybe i forgot it

----

I just wont let me in... so if anyone could give me a useful hint how to get this little piece of software working i'd be delighted

meanwhile i continue downloading my Witcher 2 via Browser >.<

Hi,
I'm having a weird problem, if i leave my pc idle the GOG downloader stop the download. I tried to leave my pc on in the night to download the witcher and in the morning when i went back to check, it had stoped almost at the same percentage that i left when i went to bed.

This happened before too, always that i left the pc idle it stops the download.

How do i fix it?

Best regards
I'm having an issue too. I bought The Witcher 2 and that worked just fine (up until the last part that isn't available yet anyway), but for my free game, I selected Gothic 2. I keep getting told that there is a problem with the file and to contact GOG via a link. So I do that, write up my message and get a note saying that my message will appear in about 5 minutes. It's been 2 hours and it still hasn't appeared. So I am posting here in hopes someone sees it.

Thank you!

Just happened to me too - downloading The Witcher. Had to close down the downloader and restart - resume fine for a short while and stop again.

Downloaded other games fine before.
osborne and wwee: That happened to me a couple of times also, I think it's just because they were getting hammered with a bunch of people downloading over 9GB at one time. :) it did finally start working when I let it go overnight.
Update:

Installation finished fine. The grey breaks in the light blue line in gogDownloader are just progress markers.

I could not Launch The Witcher 1 due to error: "This application has failed to start because d3dx9_35.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

I hit the support tab, clicked on The Witcher, and followed the directions for June 2010 DirectX runtime package (Windows Update and GPU driver current). Suggestion 3 was the solution for me.

The Witcher is up and running :-)

For Downloader Login problem maybe change to all Letter/Number combo (no symbols) password? Saw that as I was browsing much earlier posts in this thread.

For no progress while afk ... is PC going into Hibernate/Sleep and stopping download? I also had a machine that would stop download just when screensaver came on... annoying when I forgot to turn it off.

Have you made sure your computer isn't going to sleep? The default for mine is to sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity. If that's the problem, you can fix it in Control Panel under Power Options (in Win7 anyway).
