It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I've got to bitch one more time: Why does the GOG downloader have to dump the file temporarily to C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 even when I specified the download directory and the %TEMP% environment variable to directories on partition D:? Actually, some other programs do this too, so I'm wondering who's to blame here... it makes life harder for people who want to keep their system partitions small :(.
edit: updated air and it seems to dowload right into the download dir...

Apart from everything everyone else has said, this is the wrong thread. If your problems aren't with the downloader you should make a new topic.
Sometimes i get E1004. What kind of error is that? Connection error?
What speed are people getting on downloads? I recently got my downloader working, but It is running at 30KB/s . . .

If this continues for much longer, I will be tempted to find one of these torrents and use that to download the games I have purchased from GOG.
This problem has probably come up before, but since I really don't feel like reading through 17 pages to find the solution, I'll just post again.

As of yesterday, I've been having problems with the downloader. Whenever I open it, whether by shortcut or the file, all it does is open a new bar that says "downloader" on the windows menubar at the bottom of the screen. The actual window never opens. I have tried reinstalling the downloader multiple times, but I'm still getting the same problem. Anyone have a solution?

By the way, I'm running Vista 32-Bit, if that helps.

Same here. That's why I have been using the browser (to download) ever since.

- Annoyed with GOG Downloader -

I'm a new member here, barely a week and already facing a multitude of problems.

Thus far, out of 4 games I've tried to download 2 have succeeded. Teen Agent *sigh* and Aquanox.

The other game, Alien Nations I have downloaded twice, both corrupted.
Another game, Arx Fatalis, I suddenly found myself without access [E1006] after 467.8 MB of 529.1 MB and will send at least a couple hundred error reports just to annoy the management. Hopefully, after several hundred, they will be annoyed...or not. :p

I knew I never should have left the pirate scene.

I've just gotten E1006 errors with Planescape: Torment and Temple of Elemental Evil. I removed them and tried to re-add them but they won't show up in the downloader's list.

Been getting the E1006 errors too. Must be something wrong with the servers.
Lovely.
Now it's [E1014] (error requesting file).

*continues sending error reports indefinitely*
No idea why. But downloader doesn't seem to work for me.
I can open it.
but click on the Add to downloader just seem to do zilch.

And why the hell am I always getting logged out from my Gog accoun?
Same here, add to queue just doesn't do anything. I had some old games in there that I never actually downloaded via the downloader, so it must have worked at some point, but it's not working right now.
Hmm... noticed Baldur's Gate 2 got added - must be because of that. It'll probably settle back down in a few days.

Sigh... using FDM in the meanwhile

This is my first digital game purchase and the GOG downloader isn't working. Just says the queue is empty. Browser download. :(

EDIT: Browser d/l went awry, so used FDM as someone suggested in this thread. Works fine. :) Thanks alot.

I'm having the same problem, the "Add to downloader" link doesn't do anything.
