slg343: Looks like downloader is back up, but already went torrent shopping for Icewind Dale, Planescape and Baldures Gate. GOG -$30, plus skipped on last promotion ane I wanted them all.

eyeball226: GOG is not -$30, GOG is minus whatever their commission is, the rest would and should have gone to the developers who aren't responsible for GOG's fuckups. Nice work.
Already own hard cop of these games, publisher got full price for these years ago and was worth every penny.

hedwards: I have to agree with you there. But beyond that, every post by somebody that does something like that is just one more possible reason why a developer would say no. It really doesn't help GoG get developers on board when they've got people in the fora suggesting that because a feature is temporarily not available that they won't pay for it.

At least if a person needs to go that route to get the copy, the least they could do is pay for it legitimately.
If GOG was really that worried about it they would take time out of thier day to give updates on issues. Took a BS publicity stunt and then a downloader crash to make me irritated enough to even bother posting in the forum. So yea really couldn't care less at this point, they got 20 games worth of purchases from me, enjoy.

So why were you shopping for them?

That's up to them. Nothing GOG has done entitles you to steal computer games.

It's still a dick move. The inconvenience does not entitle you to infringe on somebody else's copyright. I'd have respect for you if you couldn't get the games so you didn't play them. But this is just justifying piracy rather than a valid reaction.
Every time I tried to use the downloader An empty black window would appear covering the downloader. Presumable where the games would appear downloading. Then it stops responding.
So I uninstalled it to reinstall it and now it just doesn't download from my games list and I cant find any direct links to download it. Despite not having the damn thing it still insists the games I want to download are being added to the downloader.
Please help I hate using the browser to download. The What is the GOG downloader link just doesnt open or respond in any way

Just tried the downloader again and the "add to downloader" link still adds nothing to the downloader.
I've only downloaded a small game (Heroes of Might & Magic 1), but the downloader works fine so far. :-)

Like I said I own the original hard copys, also as stated earlier these copies would be 6000 miles away in USA> Eitherway downloader is working now, so I can actually play the other 20 games I bought on here.
Goddamn downloader is not working. I downloaded one game, but now it refuses to reconaize games that are in my Download list. Refreshing it does nothing. When will GOG make this fucking thing work?

BrutalBeast: Hahahahaaa...

Just tried downloading Advent Rising for funzies and instead of the 4 GB setup file I got the 2,2 MB setup file used to install it from the 2 GB parts only available by downloading through the browser.

Same thing happened for all my other games divided in such a way:
Commandos 2+3
Gabriel Knight 2
Spellforce
Syberia
Tex Murphy - Overseer
Tex Murphy - The Pandora Directive

EDIT:
I guess I should inform them directly, since obviously they aren't reading this thread.
This has now apparently been fixed.
=> Buying ToEE
anyone else having trouble getting gabriel night 3 added to the downloader? it refuses to be added to it.

other games such as syberia2 seems to work, just not GK3!

Tried it and it doesn't add, just refreshes the queue for a long time.
It does not seem to be working with TOEE, which I just bought.\
I hoped that GOG would use the upgrade to have a downloader not based on Acrobat Air, which seems to have a lot of problems.
Their servers seem to be a little overwhelmed, just keep trying every 5 minutes or so and it should work.
Been trying to add TOEE to the downloader both from work and from home, several times. I also uninstalled the Downloader and reinstalled it again just in case, it just doesn't seem to work.

Maybe the "add to downloader" link in the game's tab is borked?

It seems to work for almost every other game that i tried...

Edit: Just to make sure, downloader filesize is 964 KB and we still have the "beta" in the title, right?

Edit2: I love GOG's Ying-Yang style, on one hand we get awesome DRM-free games for cheap, on the other hand support is almost nonexistant and half the features don't work. Weeeee!!!!!

Either the downloader or the "add to downloader" link is still not working for me (not sure where the problem lies). I am getting really bloody sick of this.
