It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

slg343: Looks like downloader is back up, but already went torrent shopping for Icewind Dale, Planescape and Baldures Gate. GOG -$30, plus skipped on last promotion ane I wanted them all.
Let me just check if I got this right:

You skipped a 50% discount (30% if you only wanted a few games) just because a feature of the site was temporarily unavailable?

May I inquire as to what, exactly, you were thinking?

Oh, I get the piracy mindset if you happen not to want to pay for games. But not buying a game, especially one that's years old, because you cannot get it right now...? Just what were you thinking...

Edit: On a side note to GOG: have you any idea how Evil it is considered to force someone to buy MoO3...? Well, me neither, but it has to be rather up there on the scale, I think... :D

GOG is not -$30, GOG is minus whatever their commission is, the rest would and should have gone to the developers who aren't responsible for GOG's fuckups. Nice work.

eyeball226: I'm not quite sure what you're saying so I'm downloading Planescape Torment through the downloader now. It's working as expected for me.
Files that are under 2 GB are unaffected. Anything bigger than that is divided into parts for downloading through the browser while the downloader ables you to download it in one part.

However now the downloader is bugged and only allows you to download the first part of the divided files.

I have to agree with you there. But beyond that, every post by somebody that does something like that is just one more possible reason why a developer would say no. It really doesn't help GoG get developers on board when they've got people in the fora suggesting that because a feature is temporarily not available that they won't pay for it.

At least if a person needs to go that route to get the copy, the least they could do is pay for it legitimately.
I don't seem able to add downloads to the downloader. I press the button but it doesn't register in the downloader.

It's TOCA, by the way.
Didn't they get rid of TOCA?

I never understood why I always got the game in two parts until you explained it now Thanks a lot BrutalBeast.

They sure did shortly before I joined here. I think it had something to do with ownership issues not really sure for certain what the exact reason is. Anyone else know more about this?

It's also noteworthy that I'm still getting double the speed from a regular download manager or even the browser than from the GOG Downloader (200k vs. 90-100 in the GOG Downloader).

I'm getting full speed @ 1200k.
Damn, it works but it still has all the disadvantages.

1. "Unexpected error" when trying to run the Download for the first time.
2. Memory leak. 1 GB RAM for a downloading program? Please!
3. Lack of one feature - setting speed limit.

Well it is the same downloader as before.

It took a month to get that to work again so don't go expecting a new one anytime soon.

They did indeed get rid of TOCA. However it should still be downloadable for people who bought it.
Not according to the quote on the Wine AppDB..
DRM-free, retail version from Good Old Games (GOG.com), the new games-on-demand platform.

"...TOCA Race Driver 3 will be removed for good from GOG.com's catalogue... Friday, May 29 at 11:59 p.m. Greenwich time." [1]

TOCA Race Driver 3 won't be available to re-download from your GOG.com account as of August 29th 2009. "we kindly ask you to download the games and back them up on CDs, DVDs or flash drives. " [2]

This removal includes the extra stuff/additional content (manual, avatar, hi-res wallpaper) [3]
Oh dear not so good for people that bought TOCA on GOG back when you could. Sad that the developers pulled out on it as it's hard to get these days. I also tested the GOG downloader to see if it downloads Two Worlds okay. Epic fail. All it downloads is a 2.2 megabyte setup file which says is corrupted when you go to install it. Tells you to redownload it but the same thing keeps reoccuring. For me this is not a problem as I now have the bandwidth and speed to download Multi GB files several times over. I'm more concerned about people with slower and not so stable connections for very large downloads. That also do not have huge download limits like I have too. That is where a proper working GOG downloader is essential. Please be reading this GOG staff. As the Majority of most users will not have a extremely fast and stable connection for large downloads.

Yeah I downloaded the game just a couple of days ago. And it's still available for me to download now.
