It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

beeawwb: Well, that was a waste of 3 hours. Set DownThemAll to get Baldurs' Gate. 1.7GB... It gets to 95%, my connection (not the most stable at the best of times) hiccups, and the download will no longer resume. 403 - forbidden.

Bugger. :(

kalirion: Um, you haven't been reading any of the instructions here on how to resume downloads, have you....
No, those instructions don't work! For some of us, at least. It's unbelievable that we have to resort to that in the first place anyway, the fact that it doesn't work is just another slap in the face, especially after that stupid PR stunt.

I like the site, but if they can't get this sorted I won't be buying any more games from them for a while.
I have no problems using my browser to download large files, if they`d work (this is the first time I`ve had problems doing it). I`ve tried downloading my newly bought Arcanum twice, both of which failed randomly at some point. I just left it downloading and would check back regularly to see how it was doing. The first one died somewhere around 75% and the second try I`m not sure. I left it going and went to watch a movie. Once I got back it was dead.

Thus, I downloaded Air and the downloader, only to find out it`s seemingly useless. I can`t find any way to actually download my games with it. It`s just blank and if I click a game in my account it only gives me the option of downloading with my browser again.

I`m now trying it a third time. I`m getting around 650 kbés, so it should take about a half hour. Good start, but the other tries started well too.

Maybe they should have spent more time getting a downloader that works and less on a stupid PR stunt.
I'm just gonna hold out for the new downloader to be released before I mess with anything

grabbed some stuff from the weekend deal but I'm holding off on Planescape and Baldur's Gate until then

Lhademmor: ...
Jesus fucking Christ, first the site was down so I couldn't download my games - now the site is up and I STILL can't download my games!
There's an option to download them through your browser like you would with any other file.
I'm going to have to wait for the downloader to get fixed as having to manually copy and paste a new download URL every time a 2 gig file times out with a 403 would mean I'd have to almost be permanently in front of my PC due to my slow connection. I've tried using FDM but I get only a third of my speed when downloading through it. I'm trying out Downthemall's beta version which allows you to add multiple URLs to act as mirrors.

LazyAndroid: It's possible that the system GOG has to prevent unauthorized downloads is blocking the resuming of downloads. I didn't have that problem though.
Unfortunately this does seem to be the case, as I tried it a couple more times (only losing 2% and 5% each time though) last night. However, upon reading further below where the Beta DownThemAll version support mirror management (something I just assumed would be standard) I've downloaded that and will try again. I should then be able to start a new download, and copy the new url into the old download and resume away.

Still, shouldn't have to jump through hoops.
Come on GoG thats two games in two weeks I've bought I'm waiting to download!! Want to play Arcanum and Sacrifice now!! Not that I'm impatient or anything, I'm a kiwi :D
Ok I'm fed up with trying to download without the downloader. My download of Planescape tornment cuts of arround 80%. Problem is that we still have limited download amount in belgium.
I tried using down them all but it doesn't work for me keep getting the same problem.

Resil: We are working as hard as we can to bring back a fully working Downloader - we don't have an exact date but it will be back soon.
13 days and no further word from Gog? are they really working on it or are they just happy to continue to take people's money for games that cant be downloaded.

As I said in my first post at least inform people on your homepage that they may not be able to download the games they buy, failing to do so while still taking people
s money is just dishonest
I don't see how people who could normally download with the GOG downloader can't use their browser. The explanations given thus far make no sense.
The best way I found to do it is to use Free Download Manager and continue downloading until it stops (ie the download link expires). Restart the download by starting a fresh download from your GOG account. When it opens in FDM stop it and right click on it and then click download properties. Copy whatever is in the "URL:" section and paste it into the URL: section of your 50-75% completed download that you started earlier. Click start at the top of your FDM toolbar and hopefully it should resume where you left off...

All the best.

Last game I buy. I started using this site because I have a shitty satellite in afghanstan and the downloader was perfect. I figured be a loyal customer here and get easy to play games with downloader. Issue happen with sites, but when they due you inform your customers. Even worse when its a site that gives a service to a small community.

The GoG download link expires after 1 minute, so if your download interrupts after that you can't resume. This is obviously bad for those with unstable connections. The GoG downloader didn't have this problem.

Right, and because they haven't finished the new downloader they must hate you.
