The download via browser is really starting to grate.
Have tried various methods in order to download my purchases, but 75% of them time out.

I've given up trying to download any of the new games I bought today in the promo :(

viiral: You have to select all the links that starts with
gog.com/en/download/

Bro: thanks for help!
usually I get "size mismatch error" after around 1 GB downloaded and if I try to restore I get "403 error".
Just right clicking on the link in your account library view doesn't get you the right one. You actually have to start the download in the browser, then copy the link the browser is using for the active download. Stop the browser download, and paste the link in the download manager of your choice. Repeat each time you want to resume - all download managers worth their salt allow you to change the URL of a file in progress.

I don't know if any of the IEs let you copy an active download's url into clipboard, but Firefox does at least. That's what I've been using with GetRight.
If you've got problems, with the downloads, just use a downloader like for example DownThemAll! for firefox. It makes the downloads faster, and you can resume them.
I really want to hear from GOG, after the cock up the other day, they really need to get their act together and fix this. I bought Planescape Torment and loathe having to download 1GB file through a browser. I have way too often had a download like that die and having to restart from 0%
Rargh what the hell.

The downloader was working for me earlier, and now my download page won't even show downloader links!

Right, i don't see any "add to downloader" button in my account page and also all the downloads via browser (FF with oi without DownloadThemAll) that i did since yesterday evening timed out and crashed.. argh!!!
Can we get a date on this downloader? Its really unprofessional
Well what do you expect? They've already shown us how unprofessional the are.

They might not know when it's going to be done. People tend to complain even more when they're given a date which proves to be inaccurate. It's the status quo for tech companies to not tell anybody when the next fix is coming out or when a technical upgrade is going to be made.

Contrary to your opinion, that's ultimately the professional way of handling it. Whether it should be or not is really a different matter completely.

What was unprofessional was redoing the code and not having a new downloader app ready at launch time.
I've had a number of broken/corrupted downloads for my new games and my patience is wearing thin.

What disappoints me the most is the fact that GOG spent two years in beta, and when they finally launch the new site with supposedly full functionality, their downloader stops working. What they were doing during those two years of beta if not planning how to make the transition as smoothly as possible, is a mystery to me. Doesn't seem very professional at all.

Now I can live without the official downloader - I have a fast connection and I can use other programmes if I must. But if a company that specializes in digital distribution of computer games is unable to provide their customers with a working downloader, well, that's just not very professional. And the lack of communication isn't helping either.

That being said, GOG's idea is still brilliant and I will keep supporting them. I just hope that someday they'll win back the respect I used to have for them. Getting the new site to work as well as the beta did would be helpful.

And maybe the forum won't eat this post, or somehow combine it with my previous posts...
Is there any official word on this yet? It's really strange since this is a huge problem and potentially very harmful to the company, but there's not even so much as a cursory "We're working had to find a solution"...

That's a solid point, sort of, as I recall the downloader had been broken for some time. Which isn't terribly professional. I hadn't had it actually download a single thing that wasn't corrupted in quite some time.

I can't seem to get FDM or downthemall to download the game files at all.

I've tried starting the download in the browser, copying the download link to the download manager and resuming but it's not happening.

Any ideas on what I'm missing?

I've got 3 games that I just bought that I cannot download.
