SimonG: You know that this is a marketing ploy into buying you games you don't really want so you can complete a fake "collection".

It's not a bad thing, but GOG is certainly not doing it to do you a favour.
Sure, but I think the point is that they don't charge you full price for the bundle when you have some of it (as opposed to Steam), not just "omg bundle cheap!!!".

StingingVelvet: Thank you GOG for using marketing tactics to try and get me to buy games I normally wouldn't and will never play.

You guys are so awesome.
Not really. They would be awesome if they got you to buy them. ;)

People who don't want all Bullfrog games have issues. :P

TheEnigmaticT: I believe we've already turned the "OWNED" notice in the catalog back on, haven't we? What other features are you talking about?
avatar
adambiser: Yes.

However, the current front page promo doesn't show that you own the games.
ie: Witcher 2 doesn't say that I own it on the front page.

Not a big deal to me, but just saying...

EDIT: Neither do the 9 game spots at the bottom.
Maybe something to do with the change in the main page?
Because the 5 game spots on the "Browse Games" do indicated if you own a game or not.

And he did speak of the catalog only.

It's not an issue at all. I haven't seen a page that does that. Also, from the fact you have some game it doesn't mean you can't gift it to someone for 50% off or anything :P

btw, almighty and beloved by some Steam also shows that you have a game only on game card, btw. (this part of my comment is not addressed to you :P)

Right, but I thought TET also asked (generally) where it was not showing that the game was owned.

Again, something's gotta be wrong with you if you're actually sure you will never play all Bullfrog games. That stuff is pure gold, I even enjoyed the heck out of Populous 1 a couple of months ago, despite the fact that I didn't think I'd ever play it again after having played Pop 2.

Huh - it never occurred to me, despite the fact that this feature is very dear to me.

Right, I only see this on the front page and it's not an issue to me. I was merely pointing out a location that does not show "game owned".

Before the sales began, regular game feature spots under the main image on the front page would show "game owned", but these do not.

Again, not a big deal to me. Just pointing out something. I'm happy no matter whether they change it or leave it.
I guess tieying new holiday sale page (that may look differently every day) to site features isn't an easy thing and this is why they decided to leave it.

Now that I re-read his post, you're probably right.
My guess is that it's due to the changed format/ look of the promo part on the front page, because the other part works just fine re: owned games.
Maybe a blue will clarify the situation?

We had this for years. Buy the whole think for 75% off and individual for 50%. It's been in countless weekend promos. I really don't get the fuss.

Considering that games just about never get off 75% alone (at least the old ones) I don't really see this "bundle" as such a great thing.

No argument there, but I will remind you once MoO 3 pops up in one of those.

You sure have a talent for summing up an issue with just one sentence. You should be a writer ;-).

I don't know, maybe because after all this time, GOG is still the only place that does that and not everybody in the world knows that?

Geez, you are one of a real GOG anti-fan...

"WHy don't you just ask for your money back and leave?"

Funny, I remember when GOG first introduced the "buy more, get a bigger discount" and people weren't really happy back then. Things change, I guess.

And I'm not an "anti-fan" whatever that is. I'm a customer. For the most part a very happy one.

ITT we discuss it on the other side of things: "you already have X games from this promo? It doesn't matter, you don't have to buy them all again like everywhere else and you still keep your discount!" And it's not common. I'd say it's even unique.
