Most of the best PC games ever made came out in the 1990's to early 2000's anyway. It's nothing to be ashamed of to be associated with the former title of "Good Old Games"! And moreover, it gives an opportunity to explain to people (and thus talk about the site, which is always good for promotion) that it used to be about all those awesome timeless classic PC games, but now has expanded to newer games also so they just call it "GOG" without being an acronym. See how that works? Even with one sentence, you talk about GOG (which is good), and yet harken back to its PROUD roots/history (also a good thing).

How about "Good Old GOG"?

I see the issue OP is bringing up. The problem isn't a GOG problem, its a perception issue. Other outlets are still calling GOG, "Good old Games" (or "ole"). Check out this Lifehacker article from just 3 months ago:

While I see the issue, I don't think its worth re-branding over. Its a problem that will resolve itself over time. The people that knew it as it originated will learn and/or move on. In other words, the issue becomes less of an issue with each passing day.

IMHO, if the branding is an issue, the better solution is education (marketing). And again, not really towards its current user base, but to those covering the site via news, updates, articles, etc.

Or "GOG, Only GOG" for full geekish recursive/self-referential fun.

"Gamer-Owned Games": you OWN it, not rent it like most of the titles offered elsewhere.

That's what DRM-free is all about, regardless of new or old.

I kinda like that one. :)
