Even the new games here will one day be good old games, assuming the games were actually good or turn out to be not-so-bad in retrospect. I think the name is fine.

ReynardFox: I understand your point, but, a lot of people out there are quite frankly dense and obsessed with only new shinies, and the "Old Games" stigma turns them off without even looking.

pimpmonkey2382: If old games turns them off they weren't going to shop here anyway.
I have met so many people that didn't even know this site had games they wanted because the "Old Games" moniker made them automatically think it was a site for nothing but that. Once I educated them about the site quite a few have actually bought from here.

because a polish company based in cyprus should have an spainglish name.
FTFY. Because grammar counts, when you name a website.

Like I said if they so ignorant anything with "Old" turns them off, they're better off using steam.
Acronym? Ain't that one of them folks that does jumps and flips and stuff?

Exactly. Plus there two points to remember.

1) It's a really good thing to be known as the best of anything, and being known as the best place to purchase older games is not a bad reputation to have.

2) One day a game released today will be old and those folks that look for shiny and new will also be older, so having maintained that reputation as the best place to purchase older games means they'll eventually end up here too.

To me, this is a solution in search of a problem.

jamyskis: I dunno, GOG as a word seems to be well established. You can't just call it "Good Games", not least because it will get confused with GamersGate and GetGames (seriously, what is with all the fucking Gs in storefront names? GOG, GamersGate, GetGames, GreenManGaming...)

Maybe a new name could emphasise the site's DRM-free credentials though?
GOG as a word makes people confused, they immediately want to know what it stands for, and the original name is off-putting for a lot of younger gamers simply for the use of the word "Old". To just call it Ge Oh Gee without a meaning seems.. awkward.

Indeed, gog shouldn't give up it's already name brand integrity to try to steal a few gamers that shop only on new games.
Let's make it sound more hard-core: GÖG ;) (like MOTÖRHEAD)

gog coma com .... gog semicolon com ..... I am pretty sure in a few years some guys will realize they can make money out of such things (and gog would thank me for having such "clever" acronyms).

Side-note : grammar is for the weakierests.

This gets my vote, only problem being someone might also think Motley Crue and those guys are pussies; Lemmy shits bigger than them.
