lowyhong: Actually, it'd be a totally wonderful dream if GOG had its own app, like Impulse or Steam, that sets up multiplayer matchmaking exclusively for its games only.

chautemoc: Best thing ever -- PROVIDED it is 100% optional, not that I'd expect less. ;)
Is this in the features wishlist?

We can't have been the first to think of that.

michaelleung: Anyway, let's list games we want to play. Has to be older than 5 years.

at least one of the C&C's is a must I think.
One (or both) of the ground controls would be good too.
Homeworld 1 or 2 (preferably 2 so i dont have to rush out and buy the first one right away)
UT:2004 obviously

einexile: So yeah, how about a game I can't wander into by mistake? Don't you want to see what a full blown Giants or Fallout Tactics match looks like? Or anything you otherwise would likely have no hope of enjoying in your lifetime.

I agree with this it would be great if we could get something going in the types of games you are never going to get an online game of normally. To this end I vote Fallout Tactics

how about unreal tournament?
or painkiller
or serious sam
or even spellforce :)
Seeing as the UT2004 servers will be going away soon, let's give it one more awesome showdown and go wild? Saturday.

Awright gennelmen, due to the curious confluence of timezones, we have scheduled 3 play dates:
Saturday @ 5PM GMT and @ 7PM GMT
Sunday @ 4AM GMT
All events are posted on Steam and Xfire groups, pop in to either server!
Also posting this in the UT subforum.

List of games that have online availability and are installed:
Team Fortress 2
Left 4 Dead
Half Life 2: Deathmatch
Dawn of War 2
Killing Floor
Day of Defeat: Source
Zombie Panic! Source
Hidden: Source
Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne
I also have the first Dawn of War and all expansions that can be used via hamachi. I have loads of other older games that can use hamachi aswell. If you wanna play sometime... Let me know.
I wish i could play multiplayer online :( the university has strict internet security so it sucks big time!
I'm downloading UT2004 now, hopefully will be up and running for saturday! I think I can make the 5pm and 7pm GMT times...
Haven't played online multiplayer since my Firearms/Counterstrike days with [KOD]...
OK, I'm updating the front page of the thread to reflect this... update.
i'll try for the sunday one. i have an exchange today. and what sites do you all prefer for figuring out time zone crap?

Timeanddate.com may not the teh sexeh, but it works.
Also works: adding and subtracting from the GMT time.

I don't have UT2004 on my HDD and i have only 800MB left to download this month (I discovered a cool show called Stargate: SG1...)
next time :(

Had some great fun this evening, but could really use more people... the server can hold 32, and I think when I was online we didn't have more than eight.
At one point it was just a 1-on-1 between me and Phanboy4!
