tb87670: Quotes were totally bugged since I got here, don't try quoting a quote in your reply or you are in trouble!

Gersen: ...or try to make multiple quote from the same message (for example a quote, your answer, a quote your answer, etc...) sometime it works but most of the time either it makes a single big quote containing everything or stops after the first quote...

Hey as long as the world don't end when you quote a quote within a quote we should be okie-day.

AndrewC: Again, never had that problem; you just need to keep the same post id in each quote part.

That's what I did but, even after multiples edits, it refused to works, I end up doing quotes the old way with dots to simulate tabs... But maybe it didn't works because I tried to create too many quotes in a single message.

Gersen:

Funny as I was just about to say that the forum eats posts at times and just hit post my message and it didn't get posted.
It most likely didn't have anything to do with the number of quotes (except maybe if you forgot to close one properly and it didn't pass some validation); another answer would be if it was too long to post (but then it would just cut off the rest of the post that exceeded the maximum length).
A post can not have more than 56,913 characters from my loooong post in the joke thread.

Yup. Kinda pointless as it stands. It's a mess of misspelled, multiple entries and "Stop requesting x item because blah" posts.
Why not make it a forum? Each vote would bump the topic anyway.
The quoting system is a mess. The only way to make sure it works properly is to take care of the code manually.
Editing a post with a "pyramid" will cause the whole quote to fall apart.
But I think that this shouldn't be a separate thread, since there is Features Wishlist thread (and feedback should be done through "Contact us" option).
Besides, I think that in 10 days at least some of these problems will be addressed (you know - the conference ;)). While I think that they will focus on new publisher, it would still be a good time for forum update (which was promised for the end of March by the way).

There has been a discussion about it not long ago. I will restate my opinion: The wishlist may be a mess, but it's GOG team's job to extract information out of it. This mess doesn't really affect users - just vote for the "proper" entry and move along.
Summing together votes from "Dungeon Keeper", "dungon keper" and "Dungeon Keeper series", then subtracting multiple votes from users that voted for all entries is still much easier than doing it in the forum.
If it was a forum - then instead of multiple entries on the wishlist, we would have multiple threads named: "Dungeon Keeper", "dungon keper" and "Dungeon Keeper series". And instead of votes you would have replies. Some of these replies would be actual votes, while others would be part of the discussion about the said series, or arguments that this game is available elsewhere, or arguments why it shouldn't appear here or off-topic posts.
In this case - I sure wouldn't like to be the person responsible for answering the question "How many people here are interested in Dungeon Keeper".

AndrewC: In GOG's context I take the beta term as defining an experiment in publishing and not a testing period for software; this means that it can very well go out of beta right now (the deal with Activision could imply that that experiment was/is successful) or stay beta indefinitely.

Actually, the GOG guys have quite clearly stated in the past that the "beta" appellation refers to the actual website as well as the service provided by the site. They built everything here, including the forum software, from scratch, hence some little things like the quote system and the downloader don't always work correctly. As such, the software is still in the beta phases. I would hazard to guess that the service side of it is actually well past the beta testing stages and is confirmed to work as it is supposed to, while the site is really the only thing that needs work.
