[url=http://www.gog.com/x11]Our holiday sale is here! You’ve been waiting for the chance to pick up all of our great classics at incredible savings, and that time is now. Virtually the entire catalog is 50% off from now until 2 January 2011. While most of you have probably clicked through and are getting games now, let’s let you know about the fine details of the promo.

Activision games are on sale until the 26th of December, so be sure to pick them up early. We’ll do our best to remind all of you via or [url=http://twitter.com/#!/GOGcom]Twitter about that, so be sure to follow us there if you aren’t for updates and reminders. Further, The Witcher 2 will be 40% off during this holiday sale, but the Witcher: Enhanced Edition is 50% off. Finally, there are a few games that are not in our holiday sale: in particular, Codemasters games and Gothic 1 are not included this year.

Our holiday sales are the best time this year for you to pick up all of the classic PC games that you have been waiting to get since you joined GOG.com; Santa also appreciates you picking up games on GOG.com, because that’s less for him to fit in his sleigh. ;)

Happy Holidays to all, and we hope all your gaming wishes come true!

Thanks a ton GOG! I just picked up Ultima 1,2,3,4,5,6, and 7 and plan on attempting to get through all of them. Of course...I also picked up Wing Commander 3 and Star Control 1 + 2 and Sacred Gold...so...I'm packed with gaming goodness for the season :-) . Thanks guys...you provide excellent service, excellent prices, and excellent goodies along with every game. The free offers periodically are awesome, even if some of us already have the game, it's good to see you offering some stuff to get folks in. Thanks!

fowler002: I'm new around here, created an account just for the giveaways(didn't win :( ) and the sale.
so many games can't decide what to get :)
grab a couple of 5 star games for 2,99 and just try them :o) (but take a look at the genre of course :D
Another 27 games purchased....

Now just to get around to playing them all!
ok, ok, so I've bought three more even though I told you I wouldn't... but this is it, honestly!!! :)
Hmm I bought so much but have a few more added to the wishlist. Sadly I have to keep my DVD version of Settlers Heritage of Kings, seems it is the GOLD edition with expansion and extra scenarios and sadly GOG have the stock standard version. Damn you UBISOFT, UBIBad :)

Sophia: Yes, there went $100 down the budget :D Thanks!!! I've been waiting to get Scratches since it came out. Love that game!
Looks like we're all in the $100 club. I could've bought Skyrim and Human Revolution, but then I took... err, ahem! What I meant to say was, I could've gotten two full-price games for what I paid for 32 classics. Not too shabby.

I now have more than half of the catalog, by a significant margin. In fact, it's a little under three-fourths of the catalog. I wonder if that qualifies me to enjoy the same sort of rights as a major shareholder? I've invested in GOG considerably, I love the hell out of them. I even pre-ordered The Witcher 2, repurchased the first game, bought four of the D&D games at full price, and gifted a good number of games as well. I tried to contribute to the community as well, but aside from sprucing up a number of things on the GOG wiki, I lack both the power and know-how to do anything actually noteworthy. I would if I could, though!

Their support is pretty much useless (I'm looking at you, JuriJ), and there's plenty of room for improvement, but overall GOG is the only one that does nearly everything right. A nice layout, good installers, an optional downloader, a shelf that isn't as horrible as GamersGate, an uncensored forum, user reviews, private messaging, a lot less broken games and installers than GamersGate, a completely DRM free library, extras, and so on.

I've collected pretty much everything I've wanted on this site, at least for the asking price. I've downloaded them all, extras included, and burned them to disc, as well as storing them on an external drive. All I need is for the community to start making slim versions of the DVD covers and I'll be set. That, or I find shelf space for 200+ full-sized cases.

Unless GOG starts selling free time, I should be good for a while, to say the least. Here's hoping GOG has a prosperous 2012. I'm looking forward to seeing all of the new releases for next year, and buying the majority of them next December.
Here goes nothing... if I can get under $200, I'm very happy.

Then there's DotEmu too...
and I had to buy Lionheart as well, because obviously I've lost the DVD... well worth it but I really should stop buying games, all Christmas presents for me and none for my family :P
Nope, I couldn't keep it under $200, it went somewhat over $300... The games just kept piling up.

Oh well, it is Christmas. I bought pretty much every game in the promo that even remotely interested me, and by mistake even a couple I wasn't supposed to (like Crusader: No Remorse: I have the CD version already which I've played through a long time ago, with no intention to play it again). Hence, I sincerely hope that in the coming months I don't feel an urge to buy any other GOG game. :)

The system became a bit bugged when the cart kept growing. In the end I had to buy in two phases, first 50 games, and the rest later.

As if I could stop there... got also these today from GOG:

Flatout (I have the PS2 version already)
Panzer General 2
Panzer General 3D Assault
Apache vs. Havoc (I have it on CD, but never played it yet)
Comanche vs. Hokum (I have it on CD, but never played it yet)
Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project
Freedom Force vs. The 3rd Reich

I also bought some games from DotEmu today:

I really hope I am done now... for a few months at least. At least from GOG I should now have pretty much every game I wish to own, and a few meh.

Gothic 1 not on discount? Why? To complete the collection i need Gothic 1 too. I am going to buy at least 40 games even though dollar is in its highest value in my country. If Gothic was on discount i could buy a few more games :(

just buy it for full price, it's worth it...
A belated "Happy Christmas" to my fellow GOG'ers....

I think I must have had far too much to drink yesterday as I ended up grabbing 21 games in the sales. I just couldn't resist a bargain. I could have bought a lot more but decided to just purchase just these 21 for the time being. All i need now is some spare time to play them.
107 games short of all the games here

Weird that Gothic still lists at 9.99 all through christmas

I dont think its Activision and those games were in the sale anyway

Gutted I was late buying Zork though - I really need a kick up the A*** LOL
All those contests have postponed my buying spree. But now that all are over I'm gonna buy something. ;)
