It seems to be running a little slow right now for me. Is it still being worked on? or is there a problem? Both forums and Homepage etc...

I think there are a lot of people doing one of two things (possibly at the same time)

1) OMG that downtime was scary I'm downloading all my games and backing them up

2) OMG its Baldur's Gate - must get!

Thus leading to a lot of site slowdown. Further the downtime has given GoG a lot of attention over the last few days so that means increased sales on top of a very high profile release.

Kind of what I was thinking but wanted to be sure they knew.

It was a good way to get attention for sure. I was sad because they were closing then seen the post about downloading the games, then the we had to shut down the beta which I figured out they were going out of beta to something like this. So I bet they got a lot of free advertisement with all the pc sites saying GoG.com is down.

I can’t wait to see what they bring out next.

Indeed so, I'm also expecting some great things for them as they move out of the Beta and into the prime running of the service. And yes the idea of the closedown was to give themselves a big news and broadcast boost - though I think its worked better than they thought because even with the new servers and web code they can't quite take this current load that the site is being hit with.

It should ease out over the next few days though and return to a more normal level of service.

Yeah, half the time I click something I only get a white screen or it just doesn't load anything... :(

Well I hope it really catches on huge because if it does you will see more publishers signing on with them as well and even newer as well as the older games. It won’t hurt to have more publishers onboard that means more games for us D)

I'm not having troubles with my posts disappearing, and I'll have to check on the rep thing as I didn't notice anything about it (but I saw someone else mention it too).

But yeah, the site is slow. However, I'm used to that from the beta, so same old same old as far as that goes. Likely in a couple days things will be much calmer and the site will be much faster.

I expect to find Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 AND Planescape Torment on my shelf next time I check it.

You say that buuut I just logged onto steam and noticed a few big depressions in use of their service today and I'm betting GoG is most likley the cause of a lot of users vanishing to get their GoG newness :)

As for relaunching, I'm certain GoG are aware of the situation - they've already had official downtime to add more serverspace and I think they've just reached their current limit. Remember putting on more serverspace is going to cost them and at the moment I suspect the greater lag is from existing users backing up games rather than all new purchasers overloading things (course I could be wrong on that count)
