Not a bad idea, maybe someone could do something in AIR and have it integrate with the downloader? I don't know how easy that would be though :/ - don't think GoG would give up the source code for that :).
I have been thinking of creating a little game library app for my personal use, I tend to have a plethora of installers and games scattered on my drives and having a one stop place to link to manuals and programs would be nifty - just can't get myself motivated to get the code started. Finding GoG games should be pretty easy, the GoG install program(s) use sub-keys in the same area of the registry and it shouldn't be too hard to wean out the game installation paths; the icons are a bit different but manageable.

Well, the GOG Downloader is still beta, I think in future versions the downloader could easily be turned into this app, it could download our shelf and present us with the boxes, clicking on the box would be simillar to the options given when we are on our shelves on site, however there is a green Download button. If the setup for a game exists, it is an install button, if the Reg key for a game exists, it will be a Play or launch button.

As long as this app remains completely optional, like the downloader, I'm all for it, but will never use it.

An optional GOG launcher as part of the downloader would be nice, yes. Probably not something I'd use too often but it'd be cool to see

Nice desktop!
I'm not saying its a bad idea, even if its not for me, but i think it'd be much easier to comvert the covers into nice icons for an existing app, or make a wooden shelf skin for an existing app. Plus it'd have the advantage of integrating with other things, instead of being a seperate app only for GOG.
I don't use objectdock (if thats what it is) but i'm sure it allows skinning. there seem to be a couple of wooden shelf ones out already, but i'm sure someone could make one using the GOG shelves too.
jeez... after looking at all those docks now i want to install one.. though i know i'll end up uninstalling it in a month or so. but.... shiny!!
