I checked the link, and there is no page, nothing for sale. But there used to be. Have GOG stopped selling merchandise now?

For the moment, yes. We're looking into alternatives that are better.

Well, no. Because the US is still most of our business. But a store that doesn't charge extortionate charges to ship to Europe would be lovely. ;)

I sometimes don't word things the right way. I'm glad we are on the same page about it :)

That WOULD be lovely, especially for all the European customers of GOG.com. I'm excited to see what you do, although taking that in-house for your Euro customers would be interesting as well.

Wonderful, fingers crossed you can find one.

Is it true that the closure of GOG merchandise shop is actually connected to allegations of using slave unicorn labor based in North Korea?

As I believe I've mentioned before, it's not the shipping charges that ruins us Europeans, it's the added VAT and customs fees we have to pay for anything over a certain value shipped from outside the EU. Therefore it doesn't really matter even if you find a shop that ships for free. As long as they only ship from outside the EU, all of your European customers get shafted.

It's sad that you prioritize American customers over everyone else, just like the rest of the gaming industry. It's understandable, but it's still sad.

Well, it is a business. So we have to make decisions that are fiscally prudent, although that may make you sad panda.

Rest assured, we're looking into solutions that ship from different continents based upon destination address. ;)

Which is why I said it's understandable ;-)

It's just that, as a European, it gets really annoying after a while to see "US-only", "$1=€1", "This video is not available in your country", etc.

Still, GOG.com does treat its customers better than any other digital distributor. So don't worry too much about it, but if possible, do look into various alternatives to a US-only service.
Always a tough one - I'm a fan of a lot of independent US and Canadian stuff, and it is a big pain to spend as much again on shipping and customs as you did on the thing you are buying. Can't really blame the sellers though. Stupid non-digital distribution economics...
