(I know this must have been talked about before, but my searching skills are weak.)

I want to play co-op Blood, Duke3D, etc with a friend of mine, but this friend is terribly non-motivated to set anything up. The second I suggest downloading something like YANG or gameranger he gives up and tells me it's too hard to get working. ;_;

Anyway, I think it would be awesome if GOG had a slick little app that had a ridiculously simple (ie, totally 100% idiot-proof) method for setting up multiplayer games for titles that are sold on the site.

What do you think? Painless one-click installs, plus painless one-click multiplayer?
It would be nice, but don't hold your breath for it. Besides, what makes you think your friend is going to be willing to work with a client from GOG when he/she isn't willing to work with what are already some of the easiest clients out there to work with?

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath.

This bro of mine basically fears all the scary little boxes in YANG. =/

Seriously? No offense, but your friend is a bit of weenie. :)
There's no such thing as IDIOT-proof.

Idiocy knows no bounds nor limits. It can always grow worse.

True, but things can be made idiot resistant.

:P I can imagine the boxes: "Brand New!! Idiot-Resistant Guaranteed Piece of Software! Buy now, use forever! Your idiotic acquaintances will never break it!"

Is it full of "Hello World" samples? :P

Get friend to install VNC and set it up for his end yourself?

If upgrading the current one isn't an option, get a better friend.

Is your friend a MMO addict? Playing with you might take away from his/her badge grinding in WOW. It sounds pretty much like deflection, there's no way those are too hard to set up.

Software development is an arms race, in which developers try to make systems more and more idiot-proof, while the universe tries to make more and more efficient idiots. So far, the universe is winning.
