I read months ago that Steam had apparently also rejected the game "because the developer did not have a promotional trailer" (which is not true, so it sounds like an excuse). So if the legal advisors of GOG / Steam fear is to get involved in a case of copyright infringement, why just do not tell the guy? After all, if the game is in beta, he could still correct it.

PMIK: Yes I agree. I assume GOG is probably frustrated that when they realease new indie games people say "NO Classic games only!" and when they refuse so they can focus on classics games then people say "NO evil GOG why not have this indie game"
That's because DIFFERENT people are saying each of those two complaints.

SirPrimalform: Apparently the reason they gave was that they are focussed on classic games, which is weird since it was submitted some time in April (after GOG had started releasing indie games).
probably had more to do with unepic's micropayment stuff(don't see other games here with them)

(personally those always feel shady to me after playing facebook games(and seeing how much people manage to spend on such things before they really notice) and seeing what they do to mmos.

even though they don't look bad in this case anyway)

It seems as if they re-named them, because before they were using the proper names such as wolverines claws from x-men and the death star from star wars. Word must have got through to them that it was copyright infringement. At least now the game is more viable for distribution.
ah, thats what it was then. they felt a bit infringy but assumed they must be just off enough lol
