Nintendo eshop is down today too, what with all the kids getting 3ds for their pokaymonz in all likelyhood.

mondo84: I had assumed GOG mods turned forum posting off to fight spam, plus allow them to spend time away from the forum without worrying about spam for today's holiday.

nijuu: didnt seem to happen last xmas?
So? That makes no difference. Plus, I didn't say that is the reason, that was my guess while the forum was down since there was a ton of spam shortly before it went down. But just because they didn't do X last year doesn't mean they can't do X the next. Faulty reasoning. :)

We've already seen multiple, widespread spam attacks. There's no assumption at all - it's happened.

It's quite reasonable that the mods turned off posting as a preemptive counter to spam.

Though, I don't understand what you're trying to argue here. I made a guess that's why the forum was turned off. Not sure why you'd take such strong issue with it. Oh well, whatever floats your boat.
Maybe they took a break to open their presents at the GOG office??

Titanium: So the issue is international? Wow.

I think I need to backtrack some death treats directed towards my ISP.

Licurg: Redirect them to Activion. The bastards won't put Bloodlines on GOG just to piss me off...
Or better yet Gabe Newell, NO GAMES ON MY SOURCE ENGINE SHALL BE SOLD ON GOG IF I HAVE ANY SAY IN THE MATTER GODDAMMIT.

I'd love to see the GOG staff opening each other's packages.

Pretty much this... except forum downtime was not really intentional - we found a bug in the spam blocking mechanics and we had to fix it first to reenable posting. As pretty much everyone is away with their families now, it took us a moment to get all the right folks online :)

I see. Thanks for the info, hope everything worked out well for you guys and merry xmas to you all ;)
I'm telling you, man: they work together, behind our backs:P

Merry Christmas to the GOG team and best wishes for the coming year. Sorry that folks had to be called to work when they were with their families at an important time of the year.
I thought I was banned LOL
