As a fan of classic deathmatch games I'm almost offended that you put CoD into one category with Half-Life.

True, but Wehrmatch would be an awesome name for a multiplayer mode in a WW2 shooter.

There's nothing worse than companies exploiting kids. Especially for over-priced crap like Skylanders. It's like drugs for kids - despicable.

When I was a kid, you had cartoons created to sell toy lines but
a) the toys were brilliant
b) the cartoons were brilliant

These days you got Skylanders and apps with in-app payments to seduce kids with ... . I mean lord - Skylanders has "toys" which you can't play with. They're like small statuettes - great for displaying but useful for playing with. The games aren't that fun either, especially not considering how much the toys cost! It's just extreme greed without the quality to make it forgivable. I mean, Transformers and GI Joe were just amazing both as cartoons and toys - my nephew is still crazy of the GI Joe toys and he never even SAW the cartoons.

Dang, indeed, something doesn't quite add up. Seems like someone screwed up a few things when defining the Australian prices. Modern Warfare 3 costs 59.99€ here, MW1 and MW2 24.99€ each.

Oh God yes! I'd like to give these games a try if only to see what all the fuss/anger is about. But £15 for a game from 2000? Outrageous! (As Aquaman would say). To get a COD game at a decent price I'd have to buy a used copy from Amazon. I don't mind buying used games but I hate buying from a billion dollar retailer who won't pay their taxes >:(

The thing that really depresses me is that every time they "go on sale" for more than they cost to buy used, or even new on amazon (I'd did the maths. Yeah I have a lot of free time) they always hit the top sellers list.
I don't to say people who buy from Steam are stupid (I'm one of them) but who is paying up to 10 quid more a bargain?

Looking on the Steam page I see that Kevin Spacey's PMC group are called the Atlas corporation..... Activision, Bioshock came out 7 years ago and even with Kevin Spacey doing the voice work you are never going to top it in the Objectivist villain stakes, let alone as a game. I find it weird that they focus on the story. Specially that political speech I heard on the trailer. Are they seriously expecting to attract people concerned about the story to buy COD? Really?

I'd like someone to introduce me to someone who buys games for the story and went to buy COD. Or anyone not interested on the multiplayer who is considering to buy COD, for that matter.
