Red_Avatar: ... and Activision really is a scummy greedy slimey company. I still think that EA is actually in third place after Activision and Ubisoft when it comes to horrible publishers. They're all pretty crap but still, if you look at the crap they all pull ...
jamyskis: Agreed.
I remember a year or so ago (one Christmas or another) they had an Activision rep at an electronics store in Hamburg peddling Skylanders. They were encouraging kids as young as 7-8 to play on the Xboxes before suddenly having their session pulled and being actively told to tell their parents that they wanted these 'packs' for Christmas.
I told the cunt exactly what I thought of his tactics, and ended up being escorted out by a security guard.
I applaud you good sir. *claps*
I don't blame Activision for making derivative crap. It's cheap to make (reused animations and assets and whatnot that's been demonstrated by COD enthusiasts). And they make a huge pile of money from it.
A lot of people like to play COD. I don't know why. I've never liked that sort of game ("Half-Life multiplayer" style is what I call it -- live short, die short). I'm more a Rainbow Six or Battlefield sort of guy. I like a little slower pace and a lot more tactics. Nonetheless, COD is making a ton more money than probably R6 and B3+4 combined per derivation.
So they can go on making what I call garbage. I won't buy it, but at least those who call it "treasure" can enjoy it.
