Miaghstir: I'm quite sure neither of you understand the text, but the imagery may be clear enough:

The guy with the helmet is called Herman, the comic is Herman Hedning, and the exchange of opinions between the two of you reminded me of that strip.

EDIT: Oh, apparently there's an official English translation (tough not of that specific strip), he's Marwin Meathead to you non-Swedes.
Lol....funny shite pal. :)
ahah

Made me laugh. SOPA's probably gonna close down many godaddy hosted site (including mine). So they were basically supporting losing their own clients.

They used to support it because some parts of SOPA would make them immune to any legal actions taken against them by courts if a site they host is found to host infriging content. Now they have backed off due to customer pressure.

Still: they could have planned that many clients would be unhappy, and they should know that SOPA will close the website of many EU based client, notably (because, unlike many copyright holders seems to believe, non US operated website don't have to comply to DMCA request, but rather to their own localized version of it, so until they received the proper form, they'd be SOPA target)
And I think it's safe to guess they'd lose less money in rare stupid trial they'd be sure to win than by losing lots of clients.

I never said I supported them or that it was a wise move on their part. ;)

I support GoDaddy commercials. /sleaze
Just a pointless and slightly OOT but possibly funny tidbit:

SOPA actually means something in Swedish. It means trash (as in you specify something to be trash, like saying "you're trash"->"du är en sopa")
PIPA also means something in polish. won't say what tough.

I like the tendency of every acronym/initialism that they pick for the legislation is an actual word in one language or another, that either explains outright what the thing really is, or is an obscenity. Can't wait for the next one.
You really suprised they lost over 25k accounts in less than 24 hours...

It means to, eh, copulate, does it not? We have the word as well (with another p in the middle). It is a slang word though.
