I think it is time to burn them down. If you're thinking about getting web hosting or domains, please look elsewhere.

Sounds like short-sighted economic self interest to me, with no regard to what will happen longterm, even to them.

This seems to be about the unknown Stop Online Privacy Act. lol

Yet another reason I'm glad I don't host through them. If I did, I would be switching and making sure they know their stance is the reason why.

EDIT: Joke refers to first link. Second link has it right.

People have already started transfering domains off their services:

don't care, I'd already decided not to touch then when I found out their owner enjoys slaughtering elephants. He made me agree with PETA! This is akin to the Bullseye quote of "He made me miss!"
Some companies just want to watch the world burn.

Hunting those animals is kind of a weird situation. They are a serious nuisance (especially lions) at best in their countries and would need to be controlled anyway. Allowing wealthy people to hunt them brings in big fat checks to the local economies (the national government shares a massive portion of the fee with the locals). Tanzanian lion hunts bring in a massive portion of the actual money these people see every year.

I know it's hard to explain to people what a nuisance some animals can be. I mean, we endlessly slaughtered sage rats and rock chucks growing up, because they're vermin and not only destroy stuff but pose a large risk to cows and horses.

I suspect elephants are nearly as dangerous to people as lions, though I'd have to check the stats.

So yeah, killing these animals for sport is questionable (I've always consumed any big game I've hunted) but sometimes there's a need to control animal populations and it's a much harder problem to solve than you'd think. Solving it by bringing outside money into your local system (instead of squandering your own) is a big win for poor countries.

Anyone who still uses GoDaddy after they're been proven again and again to be incompetent fuckwits is getting what they deserve.

I won't stoke up the debate here. I will simply say that regardless of the supposed need, he doesn't do it to protect people. He does it to enjoy killing elephants. Their motives for allowing it can be questioned, but his motives for doing it are very clear to me.

Yeah, I can't say why he did it (most big game hunters don't exactly have what I'd call pure motives). I was just pointing out why it happens.

If I was rich and bored would I hunt a lion, knowing what I know about the situation? Maybe, dunno. How would it make me feel killing it? Would it make me a bad person in my own mind? Again, dunno. It's probably not anything I'll ever discover about myself anyway. It's reserved for the wealthy.
I'm lost for words about how ANYBODY in their line of work would support this abomination. They of all people should be aware of the damage this bill will do.

For one, it will kill all lawsuits going against GoDaddy (in case they were providing the web hosting), so they are supporting it.

Seems like that is a lot more important to them than their customers.

This proves they are a bunch of weasels with no backbone.

I'm just going to link to my previous rant about SOPA which includes a link to the bill itself: www.gog.com/en/forum/general/stop_online_piracy_act/post15

One of the fundamental problems with the bill is that it is so heavily biased in favor of the accuser it is not even funny. How will the bill decrease in their liability?

Wouldn't this bill increase their own liability, although I suppose all they have to do is shut down the website itself and claim they did their part.

edit: This link describes how SOPA will break the internet, something those idiots don't seem to care about: http://www.extremetech.com/computing/109533-how-sopa-could-actually-break-the-internet
