Rodzaju: Only comment I have so far concerns warrior bow vs mage sling.
The warrior is supposed to be most damage & hit points.
Mage is supposed to be most versatile.
However, at range 3 warrior only does 1 more point of damage than mage.
I would reduce mage sling damage by 1 (to D6-1) & add a skill / spell that does single target damage (maybe D6 or D6+1 at range 3 or 4) with limited uses.
I see what you mean there. I'm going to down the mage by 1 pt. there.

And I do think you're right mages needs another damage spell. Which of the current spells do you think is the most worthless that I should replace?

Ok I replaced Teleport for now with an additional damage spell which can only target one character, has a range of 4, but is more random in nature... dealing 1d6+1. I think that's not bad, considering the Mage sucks at close quarters combat.

Sounds good to me.
Teleport is a good one to swap out.
It is an archetypal power, but with decent range combat & teleport, it could be prove problematic to pin him down.
I don't agree on sling, before nerfing it was good for the mage to choose between range 2 and k6+1 damage or range 3 and k6 damage, right now darts seem much better, however I agree that warrior's longbow was slightly underpowered, how about keeping sling dmg k6 and changing longbow to -2 modifier, so it will do k6+2 dmg? Then again rogue's shortbow looks kind of underpowered. My point is that if Sling will be nerfed to k6-1, it's not going to be used at all.
Mage's Missle is a good idea.
If there will be no starting potions, why not just change Duplicate Potion to something like "Conjure Potion" so it would create a 5HP potion instead?

First of all, 4 people WILL start with potions.
Second, it could come down to mage vs rogue.
In this circumstance, rogue may well not do more than 5 points of damage.
Mage can conjure potion, heal himself & then hit rogue.
How can rogue win?

Then the difference is one round, it will be like this: 1st round mage dupes a potion and takes it and then he may dupe it 2 more times. In case mage has 10HP potion already he can dupe it 3 times and have 4 pots overall. I just feel like there's no big difference here other than requiring to have one potion.

stoicsentry: AGHHHH I just wrote a long post and it disappeared somehow!!!!
I hate when that happens! For some sites I'm in the habit of copying my post to clipboard before posting. Sometimes I write the posts on a text editor then copy/paste to the forums.

I only used Wesnoths editor to make the grass part of the board (one could also add forests, hills, rivers etc with it)). Then I used The GIMP to draw the grid. Then MS Paint to fatten the grid lines. Then back to GIMP for the grid coordinates and to place the player icons.

Having player data on the board would be a nice touch, but isn't strictly needed. If you were going to do it: I'd suggest making a master template first. Your template will have everything on it except for the stat values themselves (and the unit icons). Each turn make a copy of the template, then just fill in the blanks.

Battle for Wesnoth: "a free turn-based tactical strategy game with a high fantasy theme", includes terrain editor

GIMP ~ GNU Image Manipulation Program: a free image editor

Notepad++ a free text editor (and much more)

Attached is a copy of the blank game board. I don't know what you guys think of it. Or anybody wants to use it. But there it is if you do.

1. Coat in Poison
2, Pilfer Potions
3. Mage only has 3 uses for potion

But I'm still leaving it as "duplicate" rather than create, because the Mage can get the "create" one next game, it's a new spell that creates slightly more powerful potions.

Thank you for all the info. I'm going to add terrain factors for game 3, definitely.

Whenever you guys feel ready to go, again, make up your characters (the 1 weapon and the 2 skills/spells) and I will post the storyline.
