I'm playing the GOG release at the moment (never played it before) and I'm having a blast, so while I'm obviously not in, I do recommend others to enter. The game is slightly clunky, and there are certainly things I would have liked it to have done better, but all in all it's a very fun game.

I have it on 360 so I used a 360 controller and found the controls OK, are you using M/KB?
