K_1269: Police Quest 1+2+3+4 (GOG) -Thespian
THANKS A LOT for this marvelous prize, K_1269!

I'm really happy that you've given me the opportunity to play the whole series. You're a great fellow, mate! :)

And congrats to all the other winners, too! :)
Thank you for Mass Effect K_1269. After I finish with my exams will dive into it with full pleasure :)
Congratulations to all winners!
Unfortunately it turns out Yesterday can only run full screen. I didn't think there were games like these available these days. Streaming utilities like Kainy don't like full screen stuff. I also prefer to play windowed even when I play on my PC.

Edit: Apparently there's a configuration tool for the game. I saw that on the game's forum, so I'm going to try it tomorrow. Maybe it can set the game to run in a window.

I'm glad to hear you will be able to configure the game to your liking after all. Through I would suggest that you inform yourself about whether a game will be playable in the way that you prefer before you enter a giveaway for it next time. There are very likely others who entered for it that would be fine with playing it fullscreen.

That's the kind of thing that's a little hard to know in advance. I typically assume that a game will work as I expect it, if that expectation seems reasonable. In fact, it probably does. I just got alarmed because there were no options in the game, and it had the launcher which also didn't have configuration options (and I expect a game with a launcher to have that there, if it's not in the game).

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I'm a bit baffled by your responses. While I appreciate feedback and do like to help a follow gamer out with their game, I hope you do realize that I neither work for GOG nor some other gaming service, but am only a private person that gifted a few games to follow gamers out of kindness. I don't provide any service or give refunds, etc.
I do hope you'll be happy with the game in the end, after all you got a 30 Euro game for free, which seems like a quite nice thing to me.
Have you tried adding -window to the startup exe ?

Worth a shot :

Find the shortcut for the computer game you want to play in windowed mode instead of full screen.

Right click on the shortcut, select Properties.

In the Target field add: -window at the end.

Click OK.

Please ET3D, don't be so picky, you're asking to play in windowed mode and most of the games don't support it. You have received a free excellent game given by a generous person, at least you can try not to bother him and look for help in the developer's page, game website or look the manual. You can also try looking for the config files, Windows registry, GameFAQs forums, GamersGate support or just Google. I remember playing Yesterday a year ago and it worked flawlessly for me.

A "holy crap I won, thank you so much K_1269" would be so much better, than sounding like a kid who only got 1 lollipop !! When people are kind enough to gift here ET3D, they don't ask for anything other than common courtesy.
I'm sorry, I didn't mean at any point to blame K_1269 for this, or to complain. I was following up on my post where I said I'm going to play it soon with Kainy if I can, and when it turned out that I can't I posted about it by way of saying "sorry, it might take me longer to get to play this than I had planned". By the way, there's no guarantee it would have worked with Kainy even in windowed mode.

Obviously that wasn't clear at all, and in retrospect I should have spelled it out or posted it as an edit to my previous post (or both). Given that this was my intention I felt the "you should have let someone else win it" comment was insulting. In retrospect I can see it was a result of the misunderstanding.

So apologies to anyone offended. I'm very grateful that I won the game, and if I have any complaint it's to the developers who haven't seen fit to include a windowed mode, but I didn't mean to raise that as a complaint here. I do plan to get to play the game eventually, but as I said, if it worked with Kainy I would have stopped playing GK1 and played it instead.
