Well, I just finished Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. At the end of Kokubo Sosho I was awarded with a 100% rating, but I didn't have zeroes across the board. I had eight total knock outs, which bothered me immensely, which got me me thinking who else enjoys ghosting through their stealth games.

There are a few games that I really enjoy stealth killing, but for the most part I try to leave as many people standing as possible. Does anyone else usually try to ghost their stealth games as much as possible?

I try, I almost often fail. I like the concept but I get stressed since if I get caught I have to start all over and that kills half the fun, both because I feel like I'm wasting time and energy.

I tried to do it in the beginning of Splinter Cell Blacklist and it was quite the challenge but then of course I failed at the end, had been playing the same mission for more than an hour.

A few months ago I tried it in a mission in Thief 1, I think I managed one of them but then you have quick saving so I doubt it would count.

I actually quite enjoy doing things in a stealthy manner! not sure why but I get more enjoyment out of games that way especially in the metal gear solid series and thief , death to spies even oblivion ( even though enemies manage to survive arrows to the head for whatever reason ) just to name a few.

Yeah, def; it's not easy, though- the only game which let me do that with relative ease was Mark of the Ninja. But I don't count it as ghosting when I have to reload more than 3-4 times, haha.

Mark of the Ninja is an excellent game.
I generally try to kill everyone as silently as possible though.
I think the first stealth games I played was tenchu. It's a good game too.
I don't know if they still continue that serie.

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is one of my favorite games to play as a ghost, I adored playing through each level with a 100% rating. I love going through a stealth game as a ghost but some games make it awfully hard at times.

How was Splinter Cell Blacklist in comparison with the older games, Nirth? I am waiting on it to get to about twenty-five bucks. From what I can tell it looks like complete ghosting is finally possible again.

I just beat Mark of the Ninja recently and I wasn't able to ghost much of it at all, although I can definitely see that is is possible.

I've gotten through a few levels in Thief ghosting, but it is kind of difficult in some places.

^This. I can't leave a level unless it's completely clear. If I were to attempt ghosting through a game, it'd have to be by save scumming which then gets dull.

Totally. My all-time favorite stealth series are certainly the Hitman games and my ultimate goal is always keeping *all* the numbers down. For instance not only did I beat Hitman: Blood Money without killing a single guard or God forbid innocent bystander, I actually beat it without firing a single shot (the exception being the boss battles where you actually have to shoot - I stealth-killed one of those guys a few times but oddly enough the rating system favors gunfights over stealth kills in those situations). I'm not sure whether I managed to beat Hitman: Contracts without firing a single shot but I actually think so.

Hitmans are definitely top of the top when it comes to ghosting. Absolution, despite all the criticisms that it received, is brilliant too. On normal difficulty it's relatively frustration-less to ghost every level, and on higher difficulties it offers mad challenge.

I recently played part 2 of that particular series again. It seems that I utterly failed at keeping the numbers *down*, but I'm sure scoring 78781440 headshots with a mere 6 shots fired must be some kind of record... (see attached, I hereby solemnly swear that this screenshot is not doctored with in any way)

As a Chaos Theory fan it's almost as good as that, definitely better than Double Agent and Conviction at least.

The missions are separated into certian catagories. They are main and side, the side into four* sub-catagories, one of them can be done by ghosting (might be possible to do the others but I doubt it, it doesn't seem possible the way they are designed. One of them is co-op only. Some main misisons are possible to ghost I think, might depend on where the game (or yourself?) draw the line where cutscenes and such affect the requirement of ghosting.

MOTN is awesome. I've been itching to replay it but I think I'll wait.

Now that I think about it I should really try Chaos Theory again, it was a while ago since I last played it. I hope it arrives to GOG in the future too.

I have heard that a few times. Hopefully I'll be able to afford it for a christmas gift to myself.

I would definately buy it again if it came to GOG. I'd also love to play Pandora Tomorrow again since it's been forever since I've played that one.
