I'm thinking of buying this game for my sister. She's a fan of the films, and if memory serves this game was hyped as being pretty much Ghostbusters 3. The problem is she's not really much of a gamer, she's only played a handful of games and the bulk of them with me. Mostly slower paced games (P&C adventure games, like the Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes, The Blackstone Chronicles, etc.), though she played a lot of platformers back in the NES days (Aladdin, The Addams Family, Goonies 2... seeing a trend?) and was really hyped to play the Resident Evil and Silent Hill games but hated the controls and didn't get beyond an hour or so before quitting and never trying them again.

What I'm asking, basically, is the game difficult to pick up for someone that doesn't have much experience with games?
I only played the Wii version. Learning curve is OK but it's pretty tedious and long. I don't think she'd appreciate it. I think she might appreciate it more as a Youtube playthrough clip.

If this is the HD versions, I have no idea.

If it's the HD version (XBox 360, PS3, PC), then buy it. I'm sure she'll love it. The action can be frantic, but it's slower paced than most other third person shooter and the game is rather forgiving (unless you're playing on an harder difficulty, but I doubt your sister would).

And yeah, it looks, sounds and feels like Ghostbusters 3. The only con I could find is that it's a bit too linear.
i have the ps3 version and its awesome , this is one game i really felt i was in the boots of a ghost buster , one of the best games done by terminal reality .

loved the story
It's great fan service... mediocre game. Play it with a controller if on PC, the mouse aiming is fucked.
Avoid "Sanctum of Slime", it has nothing to do with the original game and it's HORRIBLE.
I never really "got" Ghostbusters, so I never played the game, but it got really great reviews at release.
As a Ghostbusters fan, this is a definite must... as long as it's not Sanctum of Slime. As previously stated, it must be played with a controller.
Ok, thanks all. I'll look into getting her a controller too. Does it need something fancy? I've only ever used a Logitech controller I got really cheap in a sale, don't really know much about them.
