-Asked for a refund on Dimenstiy a month ago, said they'd talk to the publisher about it.

-No word back.

-Asked again a few days ago, said they would credit me Blue Coins.

-No word back or Coins.

Also taking in the complaints that some on here have said that GoG support doesn't write back at all...

..and that guy that had to wait two years to hear back from Steam.

You'd have to be pretty friggin' stupid to purchase one of those $80 games from a digi distributor. XD

Just a public service announcement saying that if you have to go over $30 for a game, support your local game retailer instead.

I agree with the sentiment (always easier to argue the case face to face than via international e-mail), but it should be noted that (in the UK at least) the vast majority of stores won't accept opened PC games returns under any circumstances - even a scratched or damaged disc will usually result in an exchange.

You might wanna contact GG on twitter and let them know. They seem to be quite active there too.

I got an instant reply from support after I tweeted them about my problem.

We've got Mighty Ape and EB Games here in NZ and they've got pretty decent return policies as long as you don't hold onto the game for too long before asking for a refund.

But also with hard copy = you own it even if the company goes down in flames because the hard copy isn't dependent on dialing home to an online server (with exception of DRM free games).

EB Games in my area has Borderlands GotY on sale for $48 NZD which is pretty much $8 NZD more than it would cost me if I purchased it from Steam or D2D but I consider that extra $8 return insurance.

And if I ever want a new game bad enough that I'm wiling to pay $80 for it (which I hope to god that I don't allow myself to ever become that prodigal again) - I'd rather pay $80 for a hard copy than $80 for a gamble with a digi distrib.

However, if that digi distrib has a sale and offer that game around $10, then that is a whole different story. ;)

I'm sure GG is very busy. I don't think they are purposely being slow or ignoring you. You should wait at least a week for your blue coins before you start worrying. And are you sure GG does refunds? I remember reading something about no refunds.

So is Dimensity a bad game?

Depends on the situation.

A lot of DRM free titles (on any digi site you go to) are usually non refundable because they don't have any way of taking the game back from you.

But that's the whole thing. I find myself laughing when I load up Steam and I see that they've got something available for pre-order which is in the $50 to $80 range or when GG states pre-ordering will net you bonus coins because, to me, when digi sites charge that close to retailers, it's like you are paying the same amount for something risky and a bit of a gamble that you could spend to get a more tangible and secure hard copy.

The whole benefit to my digi purchases are that I'm getting games, no longer sold by retailers OR for 75% of what the hard copy would've cost me, because when digi is priced the same as hard, you wind up paying the same for a lot less. Couldn't tell ya man, I've only seen the developer's splash screen - then it flips me the bird and crashes to the desktop with a little error note saying something a long the lines of "This har game is too uber for you."

What local game retailer? Oh, you mean Amazon? :P

All we have around here is WalMart and StopGaming.

I've come to the conclusion that EVERYTHING at Amazon is region restricted exclusively to Alabama.

I no longer go anywhere near their website.

There are some hard copy net retailers that I deal with.

And locally I can walk into EB Games.

The reason that I do most of my stuff digi is because a lot of this stuff was released five years back and hard copy retailers no longer stock it.

Also, I find it highly frustrating that EB Games will sell a hard copy of a game that I can for one sixth the price from a digi seller.

Paying a little bit more for the security of a hard copy is good.

But turning up a $10 digi copy to pay $120 for a hard version is excessive.

I don't know about the dot com version. I was referring to the UK site. But it was only a semi-serious comment anyway. While the UK high street is indeed utterly dead as far as PC games are concerned, I have absolutely no shortage of options when it comes to buying physical copies online.

Here it's often cheaper to buy physical copies than the RRP-centric digital copies. Steam only really comes into its own during its sales.

I think one thing about purchasing PC is that you've really got to have the free time to be able to research.

1. Is said game going to have DLC released it for it? Go to Steam, they get all the DLC's and keep their games up to date.

2. Is there a chance that said game might be too uber for me? Go to EB Games because they have a decent return policy OR wait until said game is on sale for $5 or under to try it out.

3. Are there GotY, Gold and Platinum versions of said game? Best to check all digi dealers first to make sure you're not paying $30 for vanilla edition when you could get complete for the same price.

etc, etc.

I mean, really, Dimensity is only a $10 game so I just chalk it up as feeling around a mine field - better to set off a ten dollar FAIL and live and learn not to set off a $50 FAIL.

Same with Greenman, tossed $3 out in front of me to test the waters - BLAM!!! *runs and never looks back*

But that's a thousand time better than "I wonder why this game is only $80 on Steam."

Don't give up. $10 is not nothing. You could buy a good GOG game with that $10. Keep trying and I'm sure eventually, you will get your money back, even if you have to wait 2 years for it. Better $10 in 2 years than $0.
