CaptainGyro: Bought Mirrors Edge, tried to install it and I get a message that says something like "gamemov.cab corrupt" and I can't finish installing.
At least with ME, you can register it to the EADM and download it from there.

Bionic Commando: Rearmed is up for $5, this week only. I played it for a couple hours tonight and had a blast. It seems pretty faithful to the original NES game (which I loved), but with more awesome and less Nintendo Hard. Controls take some getting used to if you haven't played Bionic Commando before.

If you want it, get it now. This is the first time I've seen it discounted on Gamersgate.
Um.....
................
.....................I'd also highly recommend Red Alert 3 for $7
What the the thoughts on Mount&Blade, I am cautious of getting it. I hear I should get Warband over the original, but anyone have any more indepth thoughts?

Basically, Warband has everything the original had, plus more. Since these games don't have a plot, you won't miss anything by skipping the first, and the world and things you can do are more varied and detailed in Warband. Even most mods for the first game have now been ported over.

With that said, the games are fantastic and you really *must* buy Warband. It should probably get in their sale later, just wait for it.

It is in their sale and also over at D2D, but I have a pretty good coupon code for D2D, but their version is a tiny bit older than GG's version.

Hm, I see, they're the same price on both stores, but D2D has the 20% off code. But it really is odd that the specified version is not the latest.

You can also wait for another deal. I bought it for U$7.50 during Steam's christmas sale.
True, but me having money (at all) never coincides with Steam's sales, lol. I also have a 20 coupon I payed 10 bucks for to use at D2D.
I am curious about Mount and Blade, but I never really understood what it actually is, or what playing it entails. Can anyone help me out?

I am also concerned about the combat, because it sounds like Die By The Sword, and DBTS made me feel as if I was fighting underwater.

Well, basically, you're an adventurer set loose on a medieval world. You roam around trading between cities, fighting bandits and gathering recruits, while gaining levels as in an RPG. Eventually, as you and your soldiers evolve, you will be able to join a kingdom as a mercenary, then battle other kingdoms, take castles and cities, etc. Or you can create your kingdom and try to rule the land (which most set to be the ultimate goal, since there is no storyline).

As for the combat, unlike DBTS, it's the best part of the game. You don't completely control your sword, the movement of the mouse while clicking just sets the direction of the attack, and then it follows automatically. If you click and hold while moving the mouse downwards, for example, your character will prepare for a downwards blow, and do it when you release the button.

Anyway, the game has a demo, just try it out and see for yourself =)

^ Listen to this man (or woman), it is excellent. I hate the combat in DbtS, and I can absolutely state that combat in Mount and Blade is nothing like it.
Thanks, that might be fun. I'm cautious about open-ended games. Sometimes I really enjoy them (Space Rangers 2, Sim City), and other times they seem pointless and I get bored quickly (Bethesda's games). I will see about trying that demo.
Any thoughts on Gothic III? Gold version is on there for ~$12 USD, and while I've not beaten neither Gothic 1 or 2, what I've played I've enjoyed. The only opinion I've heard about the third is that it's absolute shit (albeit, that was from my cousin whom thinks everything is shit), but considering that it's moderately priced...

It's fifty/fifty with the user-created mod patch and just the right system configuration it should be the best Gothic you've ever played but if your system config is off just a hair the game will play like a stuttering slide-show even on the most top-end PCs.
New games up for the week

Can highly recommend
