It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Gowor: There is a similar topic in the Aliens versus Predator subforum, and the problem was fixed by updating drivers for an ATI graphics card.

I suppose there could be some kind of conflict between some version of the drivers, and our installer. I'll try to figure out why this happens, but for now it seems that updating or reinstalling the newest drivers is the best solution.
Just an FYI.

I was encountering the issue using the latest stable driver from AMD's website and also with latest beta driver from AMD's website at the time (stable Catalyst 14.9 and beta Catalyst 14.9.1).

Catalyst 14.9 is still the latest stable as of right now. However, there is a newer beta Catalyst 14.11.1 if anyone wants to see if that helps. I don't have the problem anymore since I'm on an older graphics card at the moment. So I can't test it myself.
I too am using 14.9.

I haven't tried to install on my r9 290 yet. I probably won't.

I was using a 7790 r7260x cf setup with crossfire off so just the 260x.

Thanks for the reply.
Someone else with the error and again, using an AMD Radeon graphics card:

Seeing how I just bought and downloaded A LOT of games from this sale and just started to install.. 3 in a row I got these messages.. everyone listed in this thread. Can someone please verify what the problem is as I have the latest ATI drivers and I am running a R7 260x card.. I really don't want to summit a ticket as all they are going to say is update your graphics card drivers even though they are updated

I mean the games launch and play, just don't want to get down the road and start getting CTD's or something because then I would starting throwing stuff!!

Couldn't tell you, but I hope they have a solution or a refund ready.. I suppose I could try on my laptop but that is also AMD but windows 8.1 instead of 7 but that kind of defeats the purpose anyways.. Sigh, all that time downloading and no answers

So far it is looking that way, as I haven't seen anyone getting the errors that has not got an AMD card. Also it seems that it only affects certain models of AMD cards, in particular the newest like the Radeon R7 200 and Radeon R9 200 series.

I had my r7 260x since last March and no issues like this.. Then after last driver update in september it screwed things up. So basically the best thing to do would be just wait for another driver update and hopefully it fixes it is all I can say.. I think GOG should be aware of his and also AMD

I will turn on my laptop today , DL a small recently purchased game and see if it does it also.. only thing is I know I just updated the graphics driver on that a few weeks ago which is also AMD but not the r7 or r9 of course.. and report back.

I've sent a few support tickets but what are they gonna say except IDK

EDIT-- Not going to get around to laptop today, but soon.. Still waiting on support reply ( would be nice to hear something )

2nd EDIT-- Still no response from the 3 tickets I left support.. Do they just not answer tickets they know they can't fix?

bump
Definitely the cards ( AMD R7 or R9 series ) or drivers

Downloaded and installed on my laptop and works..

If someone has found a workaround that would be great as Support was no help..

I wouldn't be too concerned. GOG Galaxy should not be too far from release now. It should allow us to download the games in an already installed state I believe. Also, I'm sure they will be able to fix the installers.

Never heard of that.. Anyways yeah not too concerned.. Sooner or later there will be a driver update I hope and whatever the problem is I hope gets fixed
