I'm a well-known poet
But lost the pages of my latest work
My marbles went missing too

Could you tell me how you got those empty lines to register in your post? I tried before to insert empty space, but couldn't figure it out.

Ixamyakxim: *edit to add LOL Silent SERVICE - whatever the submarine game is...

Telika: Yes !
I should have expected that from our local U-boot movie buff :)

Posted another.
I got to the end!
Princess another castle?
She best be worth it.

Brr, its cold outside.
Just one more turn left to go.
When did spring arrive?

Jolly good fun. Had fun reading all these and coming up with my own.
My first one is obviously a classic console game and the second one is what TBS players go thru all the time, although this one is a bit exaggerated seeing the season changed from winter to spring in the middle of a game :).
Thanks for the fun :).

I just used regular carriage returns with the Enter key. Maybe it's something platform- or browser-specific? (I'm using Firefox on Windows; I don't know offhand whether it sends newlines as \n or Win-style \r\n.)

There was a young lady at sea
Who complained that it hurts when she’d pee
"I see," said the mate,
"That accounts for the state
of the captain, the purser, and me."

Entry

I'm all out of gum
I have a need to kick ass
all hail to the king

Also, I would like to add a poem thats not a haiku, not for entry, i wrote a haiku for that.

This is one I wrote for a contest in 7th grade. I did not win, but it got published.

How did I get here
How do I escape this place
This tunnel of fear

Evil triumphs over good
Power is in the hands
Of the evil man that stood
In the stands
Watching me battle
The beast he created
Myself

As I battle the beast within
I remember all its sins
How I can't control its wrath
How it took me down that path

I know the only to destroy it
Is to destroy myself with one deadly hit
To its creator who made me
And drag him out to sea
To watch him float away as my life drains
So I did, everyone is safe
As my death takes it place

How was that, I think its pretty good, especially for 13 year old me.

Man, this does takes me back, a long way. Again, I wrote this in 2009.

So tomorrow morning I'll decide on the three recipients of the free games, so you have about half a day left to get in any leftover poems, though I shan't be dismayed if anyone wants to keep adding poems to this thread even after the giveaway is done, there's so many good ones.

What's the protocol for this? Do I do it publicly or contact the chosen ones through PMs?

You can do either. But I do suggest anouncing the winners.

As mentioned, winners are typically announced publicly, PM the gift codes, and the winners should reply with a thanks after redeeming the game.
Great contest, thanks! Please count me in:

Rain at spring dawn hums
Mystery veils like ether...
One of us will see

I'm in for Ether One Deluxe :-)

I have to say, thanks for doing this little contest, it is unique and allowed me to do something I hadn't done for 5 years, and got me to share something I never got to share before.
