Pretty 'cool' move, Galimatias. You guys use cracks, sometimes don't even bother to remove the actual group name from the exes (spare me the 'oh, but the publisher allowed us' crap, if you really want to you could have removed those lines and at least go unnoticed, but when we start talking about solving some valid issues with them, you lock the thread.

Not that any of the GOG fanboys will care about this, I'll probably get attacked by them (and this thread will get locked / deleted / whatever)... but just saying, pretty 'cool' move.
I have no idea what Galimatias is or what this thread is about, but if GOG used a cracked exe again to provide a DRM free game... well, that's kind of tacky.
I thought it was known that they did this.

a staffer.

and yes they use cracked exe's
I'm not sure I understand what the problem is. They wouldn't do it if it was going to get them in legal trouble (I assume), so why do we care?

I knew they did before. I am guessing No Regret is a new example?

In any case like I said I think it's tacky. I can't imagine they don't have the know-how to remove DRM from an exe themselves, you would think that would be core to the job they do. It's not OMG TERRIBLE though, really. It's not like "the scene" has copyright on their work.

My post is related to this:

forget about fanboys. It says DRM free and they are DRM free, then what?
IMO, the thread wasn't locked for 'talking about them to solve valid issues', it was locked due to the no-no links

Common sense alone would dictate that people would take the finer points of some discussions off site, but i guess it's true what they say, so god damn rare it's a superpower.
First, I did think your post it is "strange" at minimum because I think it was already discussed here. But after this link, now...

:o
I guess locking the other thread had liability reasons. In some countries you are responsible for the links posted on your websites and some of the posted links contained material that is illegal in some states. A way to avoid becoming liabel is to have some sort of moderation, which Galimatias did. So GOG did the bare necessary to keep out of troublem on other forums you would get banned for much less.

The same would probably happen if I started posting links to "The Anarchist Cookbook" and stuff like that.

And their is still the matter of appearance. GOG is still a company, and the forums are no private board, so I'm good with their reaction.

Okay then, tell me why is it fine for people to post links for Fallout Mod Manager? Because, if you didn't know, it bypasses the GfWL protection of the game.

But GfWL is evil, so bypassing that is okay, right? ;)
Here, all the cracks you will ever need. Free!!! No virus or trojans I guarantee it.
+1 internets to you, sir

You're being obtuse. The links posted were to the most famous NOCD site around. I'm playing through FO3 right now and I had no idea that Fallout Mod Manger removed the DRM.

Don't put GOG in a difficult position. Take that stuff to other forums.
