They play like the oldschool topdown rpgs including some of the Ultimas and Wizardrys......and are fun to boot. Play a guy making creatures using "essence" (a catch all magik substance also used for healing/spellcasting/etc) and upgrade those creatures as you use them and your own weapons/magic to fight through some awesome settings.

You can also pick from three character types in the early ones(didn't play 3-5 but they seem to be good from reviews from players i've read.), a mainly melee fighter with low creature creation/magic wielding ability, a magic type with high creature making and magic skills, or a rogue type who is a mix of both hack of all trades sorta bloke.

The game itself also plays differently in some of the games(the ones I played) depending on the faction you align with as you play, and some characters of differing factions treat you differently if you encounter them before or after choosing a faction so there's a good amount of replay as well.

And you can get around the pricing by having a US citizen buy them for you btw.

Not enough gold....er.......I mean money.

At least I won't be distracted from playing Terraria and clearing my backlog a bit.
Would if I could, but my wallet says 'no'. :(
You guys are missing out........I feel bad for the both of you. :(
Way ahead of you... Spent a good chunk of Saturday + Sunday playing through the first one. I'm completely in agreement with GR but for different reasons.

I have yet to find a faction that is completely right or wrong, it is up to the player to decide. Genuine quality work was obviously put into the worldbuilding, which is something a lot of developers ignore in favor of the more easy Dungeons and Dragons rip-off. No elves, dwarves or dragons, just dudes who create life in things such as a baton or fire breathing dinosaur.

So yeah, for 5 games the price makes the choice obvious if you are someone like me who is always on the lookout for another quality RPG.

The one faction that likes to be slaves seems retarded tho, IMO. (An aside to White mainly)

Same here... for less than 4 euros it was a steal; already clocked 7 hours of play in 2 days
