moonfear: BTW - credit cards are specifics of USA no ? I am used to debet cards :) actualy I do not know anyone who is using credit card.

chautemoc: They're uhh..very popular in North America. Haha. :)

i only use credit cards... easier to keep track of spending when its on one monthly bill. I pay off everything at the end of the month so I don't pay any interest, its just more convenient than worrying what's in your bank account at the moment (i keep most of my money in other places besides checking).
But anyway, with Arx release I might have to go with Arx, Gothic, and Sacrifice
Kind of annoying that Port Royale 2 (which I would really like to get) doesn't come out until after the deal is over.

ethanpd: Actually, to do an instant payment from your bank account, PayPal still requires you to have a credit card attached to your account as a backup funding source. The reason for this is that PayPal is not able to instantly take money out of your bank account, since there's no online equivalent to Interact.
Just like using e-cheques or the standard sending money to PayPal method, it takes time for online bank account transactions to take place. PayPal can't even immediately find out if you even have the funds to pay for whatever you're getting. So, their solution is to use your credit card as collateral in case you don't have enough on your bank account. It's only considered "instant", because of the convenience of allowing you to get something now with funds that will be getting to them later. Not enough on your bank account, and they just charge your credit card instead. No credit card, no "instant" payments allowed.

This might be true for the US or Canada. But I live in the Netherlands and use PayPal with just my bank account. I have always been able to do "instant" payments without any credit card info what so ever. Never had any issues.
I believe the reason for that is that in my country credit cards are very rarely used. Everyone uses debit cards. I know of no single person who owns one. It wasn't till PayPal got there own office in Europe and got more involved here that they altered there service to be more in line with how things go around here.
Seeing as this clearly is different country by country it would be best to look at the PayPal site yourself and see how they service in your country.

Hold fire till after Christmas, I have a feeling that the January sales may give those who rushed to buy now a bit of a low feeling.
I managed to buy the following before the end of the promotion
Arx Fatalis
Gothic
and shogo
all great games although wish i could have got port royal 2
Wish I had found out about this in time.

Perhaps the GOG folks could comment on this speculation. I bought my last two games a week before they announced that last sale. I'm really wanting Darkstar One next Tuesday too. Anyone?
