I think that special edition of Neverwinter Nights 2 was aviable all over Europe, there was another version that was the Lawful Good.

The others they are german exclusive.

lowyhong: Welp. I guess that settles it. As a self-respecting gamer, I now find it mandatory to move to Germany with immediate effect.
I have that exact NW2's Chaotic Evil Edition, bought here when the game was released. I dunno about other EU countries but both the Chaotic Evil and Lawful Good CE's were available pretty much everywhere that sold PC games around here which leads me to think they aren't the rarity you think they are.

Anyway, you should perhaps consider moving to Portugal, we have no censorship on games and much nicer beaches ;)
Sorry, but since Cenega Poland released Bioshock which was German region version and it was ripped off from almost all blood, I hate German releases and games. :P

lowyhong: I was browsing amazon.de, and I found so many of these Collectors' Edition games that aren't available anywhere else in the world. I already know about some exclusive to Germany and a few European countries, but others, like Risen, are new to me. Take a look at a few examples:

Drakensang Collector's Edition
Gray Matter Collector's Edition
Mount & Blade: With Fire and Sword Collector's Edition
Edna and Harvey Special Limited Edition (because why stop at Collector's Edition?)
Divinity 2 Collector's Edition
Neverwinter Nights 2 Chaotic Evil
Risen Collector's Edition

Welp. I guess that settles it. As a self-respecting gamer, I now find it mandatory to move to Germany with immediate effect.
Censored butchered pieces of garbage in nice shiny packaging is what we get. No problem, if you just want to decorate your shelf but we gamers like to also play our games. If you are a self respecting gamer, I recommend you don't move to this hell for gamers...

Only Premium Games edition.

First release wasn't censored.

Navagon: As for retail, it's totally dead here for PC games. Unless you're talking about online stores like Amazon. Brick and mortar stores are 95% console focussed. Or more.
We don't have dedicated gaming stores (well, maybe some few), but we have two very major electronic goods chains here, that still have a fairly big PC games stock.

You can get some really decent retail deals in Germany that can even compare to some good Steam deals.

You'll only find that online here. If you find some PC game cheap in a shop it's probably second hand in a charity shop or, on occasion, the store is getting rid of its PC stock. Suffice to say that the latter isn't likely to happen again since it has already happened across the board (unless you're in London or something).
There's also the Black Mirror Collection, which isn't as spectacular, but we didn't even get that.

True. But my point was: who cares if German editions look nice, have nice additions and gadgets, when even medium violent games are censored there?

Who needs violence anyway, when we have less strict limitations regarding sexual content? :)

That is not present in 100% of AAA games anyway? :P

Who needs violence? People who enjoy violent PC and video games. And people who enjoy it when games are somewhat realistic because it adds to immersion. What I mean by somewhat realistic is bodies not disappearing before they hit the ground after killing infected in Left4dead 2. Sure, the less strict limitations regarding sexual content is nice but that doesn't make up for the way this country treats violence in PC and video games.

I'm pretty sure we have no limitations at all.

I hear the beer is cheaper than water too.

That sounds exactly like Singapore, sans the nice shiny packaging. So you see, wherever I move to, it's bound to be a better place for a gamer ;)

Yeah, that one goes without saying. Why do you think the government gets away with the shit they're currently doing without having the streets turning red ?
