Any link for a press release or something? Is this really a full remake or what?
Today I was loosing hope on gaming... with so many "Online" titles, then, boom: Jagged Alliance 2: Reloaded. :)

I'll pass verdict when I play it (or, at least, get feedback from sources that have similar tastes).
Don't think this can get screwed up? Look up "Brigade E5: New Jagged Union" and all the other unofficial sequels.

Well if all they are doing is improving the graphics, ui and expanding the tutorial It will be quite a feat if they manage to mess it up.

You have to have a boner to play it? This DRM is getting ridiculous!

Thank God the era of "special editions" of classics is finally upon us. Monkey Island and now this, plus some console ones I have heard about.
Let's keep it going.

I'll wait 'til we know more. Those screenshots look disturbingly like Hired Guns: The Jagged Edge; one of the chief causes of flaccidness in the modern-day male. This could easily just be a glorified mod.

Targeted platforms have yet to be disclosed. Why does that seem ominous to me? Not more console marketplace fodder, surely?

Would it actually be a bad thing to get a complex turn based game onto consoles?

When an FPS lacks crouching because the 360 controller doesn't have enough buttons I'd say yes, it's definitely not a good sign that it could wind up on consoles. Every attempt at a console RTS has resulted in a horribly oversimplified game. Turn based wouldn't fare much better, I bet.

Take a look at Warhammer 40k: Squad Command. Streamlined, but not over simplified.
And actually, turn-based games tend to be the easiest to port. Hell, just making it so that the left-stick controls what cell on the grid you want to interact with, and the right-stick controls what button (in other words, basically a two mouse setup) would probably work perfectly for JA2.

While there are exceptions, the PC version usually winds up getting the same controls and UI as the console versions.
Which, again, is not that much of an issue when you are dealing with a menu-based game (so long as mouse support is added)
