CalamityRanger: I'm having a little bit of trouble figuring out how to get into Mathius' apartment right now. I tried lockpicking (electronic locks), kicking the door, and interacting with the window but that doesn't seem to do anything.

eyeball226: Massive adventure game cliché!
"Hmm, I can't get in through that door. I wonder if there is another way?"

You'll get it eventually man.
Too true. :P Doors, an adventure game protagonist's worst nightmare!
A bit of a hint for you - that door might have an electronic lock, but maybe other doors will not...
Here is PC Gamer's review of Gemini Rue: http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/03/01/gemini-rue-review/
The very first paragraph, and indeed screenshot, contains quite a large spoiler for the game's plot. Not happy.

I know, that was my reaction too. What a doofus.

+1 That was a massive fail on their part.
Thank you for the warning gang. I'll be sure to skip that review. That's one thing I massively hate about a lot of reviewers, they find it necessary to drop huge spoilers in their review, basically ruining the experience for someone that just wants to know how the game is. :\

Also thank you to Gremmi for the hint regarding the door. I haven't gone back to the game yet but I will keep that in mind. :)
Just finished the game, and wow, what a fantastic game. This is one of the best (if not the best) point&click game I have ever played in recent years. It has been awhile since I've seen such a great ending too, loved every second of it.
Can't wait for my boxed version to arrive now ^^.

Yea, I was in the middle of the game when I saw that screenshot on PC Gamer, they've removed it now though - thank god for that. Talk about ruining the experience.

Yeah I posted on the forums and Dan apologised and had it removed. It's a pretty big mistake to make!
I totally agree gentleman. I too have attemnpted getting throught the door, but I have being so busy in the office lately I couldn't play. My secret partner, Kyle, wants to adopt another Norweigen child from China.
I think the best method is to pleasure the nob.
XOXO

eyeball226: I'm going on the way the demo was set up here, but there is both a windowed mode and a few scaler options. Look in the game's folder for the setup program.
Still no go, screenshot attached.
An error has occured. Please contact the game author for support, as this is likely to be a scripting error and not a bug in AGS.
(ACI version 3.21.1111)

Error: This plugin is not compatible with the Direct3D driver.
All modes won't work, windowed or not.

So, to get the sharp screenshots that people (and developers) are posting, you have to run it in a tiny little window. Screenshot attached, lmfao. xd

nimd4: ...
In the dropdown box with the options "DirectDraw 5" and "Direct3D 9", what do you have selected?

Found what? I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve.

Hi eyeball, thanks for the reply. Reading on their forum (which I've managed to find), I don't think it's possible. Guess I'll have to run it in xpmode vm on the spare screen. :$

ps. I'm trying to run it in a bearable resolution, but it's not working out. :) Switched the config file to 32-bit, but even after returning to 16-bit which I've found I have to, the errors are still there (apart from running in a tiny little box on the screen, lol). Gonna just uninstall and forget about it, thanks for your replies.

I might be able to help if you tell me what the problem you're having is.

p.s. Did you read my last post? What option do you have selected in the dropdown box?

Please don't give up yet, I have an idea but I need to know what you have selected in the box marked "Graphics Driver".
