A fast-paced roguelike-like old-school medium-core single-serving first-person gun-shooter. WHAT?!

Tower of Guns, a first person shooter in which you storm a enemy-filled tower that is randomized to offer a different experience with each exciting play-through, is available 50% off on GOG.com. That's only $7.49 for the next 24 hours!

Tower of Guns is a game designed to give you a full single-serving FPS experience everytime you play it. Each floor of the tower you'll be attempting to capture consists of a random set of predefined rooms, populated with different setup of enemies, loot, and power-ips. The game also offers many different combinations of weapons and character perks, adding special flavor to every play. Even the narrative is selected at random, so the backstory can have you follow strict orders from your commanding officer just to make you into a delivery boy with an important package the next time around. The silly dialogs are well in sync with the game's humorous tone that makes everything from the descriptions of your guns down to the names of bosses into a light-hearted joke. All that comes with somewhat cartoonish graphics, some quirky puzzles, and zany gameplay ideas. The game can prove to be challenging and may force you to dust off your old-school shooter skills, like circular strafing and bunny-hopping. Be warned, though described as a "lunch-break" type of game, beating the tower takes up to an hour, so make sure you've got some time left to actually eat your lunch. Or better yet, try not to play it in your lunch break at all. It's too fun and addictive to put down, and it could ruin your productivity for the day!

Master the art and science of gunslinging while tower-running in the endless canonade brought to you by the Tower of Guns, for only $7.49 on GOG.com. The 50% off Gem Promo discount offer lasts until Thursday, June 12, at 9:59AM GMT.

JudasIscariot: I like unlocking the collectibles in ToG as there are tons of them and the dev has just recently added new guns in the latest update :D

IAmSinistar: Is this like Risk Of Rain in that regard, in that each play through unlocks items that are available on subsequent plays? I admit that I find games like that rather compelling, since the game itself is on the short side but it takes multiple plays to really make progress.
Yes, it's exactly like that :) You have a collection that you look over and see descriptions of items unlocked and then you can look over the guns you have unlocked and any perks that you have unlocked in your profile :)

Sweet, so you have more options with each subsequent play. I think I may have to pick this up then. :)

Ha ha, thanks again man! :D
I want to get it, but I also want to wait and see what comes tomorrow and for the weekend :(

Might have to wait to see if this is on sale again soon...

EDIT: 7 hours later, I realize I bought this a while ago. I didn't realize until I went to the game page and saw the "redownload" button where buy should've been ;)

Shilly me...

Got this when it came out because was super excited and then never got the time to play it.

It still looks as awesome as it did back then.
Bought it. I also sent my first Tweet after buying a game so that's a first.
Its good promo, but to think that i got it for 1$ on IndieGameStand...still dunno how they manged to organize it.
Same story with 1849
I guess a power-ip is like a power-up but with more power!
Very interesting game anyways.
This is a great game! I highly recommend it to anyone who likes FPS games and rogue-likes!

Ah, that would be because that was an early-bird, early-access special. You picked up the game back when it was about 20% complete--thanks!

And thanks to everyone else for chiming in with ToG support. You guys are awesome :-)
What a crazy-stupid-fun game! I haven't touched anything else since I bought this one at release here on gOg. Super-easy to learn, easy mechanics, lots of specials, boosters, and unlocks, doesn't require super-duper hardware (though it makes my laptop run a bit toasty), looks good when scaled back to lower res, and, and, and... sounds like I'm gushing.

Just a really fun game that works well, has lots of hidden secrets, and sucks up your time like a good rogue-like should.

With regards to it being an hour-long game....

BWAAAAHAHAHHAHAHHAAAHAHAA!

No, really. Bwa and ha.

Once you finally DO win, you can do so in an hour. And then you'll play it again. And again. And again. Before scoping out the game's forum I had thought that I was somewhat close to "finishing" the game by beating it using every perk and every weapon (I'm about halfway through that list). Turns out there are tons more secrets to find.
Hmm considering we're at the half year mark. Gog should do a promo that lasts from now until June 30.... Just sayin' is all!

amok: I managed to get to level 21 on endless. Had a good run finding the Shrapnel Trumpet with Seeking mod. Got killed by the egg scrambler. Good times.
Bah, Egg Scrambler is pure evil. I died for that bastard more times than to any other boss. And shrapnel trumpet is overpowered as fuck, altho I've had even more fun with that findable gun which, when leveled up, has absolutely massive splash damage and basically shoots you backwards every time you fire it - it gets you killed, but it's awesome.

Is that the go-anywhere machine gun? Found that one on my latest attempt at Endless Mode but somehow croaked before getting a chance to really play around with it.
