Get this game, people. This is the cheapest you can get the expansion and a patched version of the original, which still plays really well. Some call it simple, but the combination of 3D Realms-style puzzling, Id-like action, and a unique damage system makes for great gunplay, interaction, and somewhat effortless storytelling. Keep in mind that this is the game Old Man Murray was most likely criticizing with Start to Crate; I think SiN's unique because of the abundance of warehouses and crate mazes, at least.
Is there any point in looking for ATM codes or change for the phones (pay phones in the future!?!?!) or is that all just window dressing?

Nah, it's inconsequential. You never feel the effects of transferring a certain villain's whole bank deposit to your's, but it's a funny easter egg like those you'd find in Duke. It also gets you used to the terminal systems used throughout SiN, each of which can be unique diversions.

In short, you have work for the laughs in this one. I like that. And there's always the joke of John Blade and J.C.

This game was released after Half-Life and it goes under because of HL.

It's the bad sister or brother of HL ;)
Truly a gem with lots of hours of gameplay.

still own the cd's but bought it again here on www.gog.com

I sure hope the Linux port of SiN will eventually be made available on GOG. I bought this on the off-chance that the LIFL installer would work with it, but it seems the installer requires the Linux CD, which is more or less impossible to get these days.

Sin is a great game, and in my opinion, the best 90s FPS. Even beating HL, because of the coolness.
I also got the game and the expansion as original dics, but couldn't resist buying it here again to show my support for it.

It's a wild mix of Duke 3D meets Half-Life, without reaching the overall perfection of the latter.
But when I played it years ago I loved every minute of it. A rewarding, fast paced, FPS with a unique visual style in a highly interactive world.

4 $ for the game and the expansion is a steal, or shoudl a say a full scale bank heist. ;)

It has a 'Don't play with Valve' sign in one of the first levels :) So, there must've been some competition between those two.

Gah, now I can't wait for the end of the week when finals are all done so I can actually play this game. I bought it this morning. Although I am more of a fan of the early Quake games than Duke and I haven't played Half Life, I've seen it a couple of times for a 2 dollars for the vanilla game or around ten for the GOTY release just haven't bothered picking it up.
