Forgive me, Father, for I have...

Pick up SiN Gold on GOG.com 60% off for just $3.99 in today's Classic Gem Promo.

You have until 6 May 2014 at 09:59 AM GMT to get this fantastic run and gun FPS that's known for being over the top. More explosions, more weird 90's jokes, and more fun, all packed into one little download for just $3.99. The Gold version of the game includes the base game and SiN: Wages of Sin (which we assume is about you taking a 9-to-5 job as a corporate stooge for SiNTEK).

You are Colonel John Blade, head of the most prominent private protection agency in Freeport. Elexis Sinclaire--the CEO of SiNTEK--has decided that she needs to wage holy war against private security contractors like you. She's amassed an army of mutants via a DNA-altering street drug. Now it's up to you to make the world a better place--or at least get rid of Elexis. For Colonel John Blade, that amounts to about the same thing.

Give evil and a city full of mutants the old what-for in today's classic Gem Promo for just $3.99.
I know it says how long this goes until, but, if this is still on sale on wednesday I'll probably be able to get it.

The sale ends May 6th which is tomorrow. So if you really want to get it, you will have to get it between today and early tomorrow unfortunately.

I feel bad for all the kids playing this who don't get the Hawaii 5-0 and Barney Miller references.
Nice! Gonna grab this one later
Purchased.
Good promo, though I already nabbed it earlier. Harder than I expected too, I'm having trouble getting very far in it. But still enjoying it.

On the plus side, they didn't have to sit through those shows like us. ;) (Actually, I have a sneaky fondness for bits of both of those old shows.)

Speaking of references, is your current tagline a reference to Land Of The Lost? I was so certain that the recent series Lost was a stealth remake of that, at least in the first couple of seasons.
FPS classic. If you don't have it... really?

tinyE: Just got it.
Call me simple
You actually meant to say simplE?

Yes it is. XD I was in a sports (think it was sports) forum not too long ago and one of the moderators had this as his name along with this hilarious Chaka avatar. I couldn't bring myself to get into the conversation because I was laughing so hard.

That's great! I have fond memories of that show, including the Sleestak, which had the same "classic Doctor Who" monster ethos of a good concept wrapped in a less-than-stellar lumbering costume. :D

Another parallel with Doctor Who, the insides of the Pylons were larger than the outsides. Don't know if that was a lifted idea or just convergent evolution. LOTL had a lot of trippy weirdness in it.
I thought this game looked dumb when it was first released, and I think it looks even dumber now, but DANG, am I having a hard time resisting the urge to click that little "Add to Cart" button!!

It is dumb, it's also fun. I've only just started but here I am running through a bank blasting baddies to pieces and the blood is glorious.
Bought and downloading...

I do own the box of "Sin Episode Emergence" with Sin included (Don't know it it's Gold) but I never finished it as I got stuck early on. As for Emergence it did not run properly on my system back then, I think there was a sound issue but I don't remember for sure. I'll have to give it a go with my current computer one of these days.
I always ask the same questions when FPS' are on sale;

- Is it relatively easy? I play FPS' a fair bit but never go beyond the easiest setting

- If applicable, how many difficulty levels are there?

- Does it have checkpoints or a save anytime option?

- Would you rather be a lemon or an orange?

edit: Do enemies respawn? <- one of my pet hates

The Barney Miller lines almost feel out-of-place, but they reference the cheeky fun of being a cop-by-hire Blade's gotten himself into.

Get this game, people. This is the cheapest you can get the expansion and a patched version of the original, which still plays really well. Some call it simple, but the combination of 3D Realms-style puzzling, Id-like action, and a unique damage system makes for great gunplay, interaction, and somewhat effortless storytelling. Keep in mind that this is the game Old Man Murray was most likely criticizing with Start to Crate; I think SiN's unique because of the abundance of warehouses and crate mazes, at least.

To the above: SiN plays without checkpoints, and is hard on Hard. It does provide you with start-of-the-level autosaves, so you can do continuous play that way (there's also a way to pistol-start if you have your bearings). Thankfully, the pistol's one of your most useful weapons in this game thanks to headshots, which is different from most pistols I've ever used in an FPS. So there's a starting advantage for you.
