A royal RTS bundle!

Celtic Kings: Rage of War & Tzar: The Burden of the Crown, a pair of elaborate and masterfully executed real-time strategy games driving their inspiration from historical events with an occasional splash of fantasy, is avaliable bundled 70% off on GOG.com. That's only $3.59 for the set of two excellent games for the next 24 hours!

Many people imagine the life of the monarchs to be simple and blissful. There's no higher authority, so there's no one to tell them what to do. They can decide to spend their days feasting, dancing, hunting, and pursuing other frivolous activities. The thing they don't understand is the weight of the crown. Not the actual weight--that's quite bearable, even though many rulers would much prefer a simple felt hat, then a layered construct of fine gold and jewel stones--they weigh no less than regular stones, mind you. The metaphorical weight is far greater. The burden of the crown is the burden of the ages. As it rests on one's head, so does the whole history of a nation: the past, the present, and the future. To tell you the truth, the latter feels the heaviest, today. Excuse your lord this moment of chatter, fieldmarshal. The battle is upon us, let gods make it the last one.

Tzar: The Burden of the Crown offers the best in real-time strategy gameplay with a believable setting and nice sense of scale, and just a splash of fantasy. The three factions available in the game--Europeans, Asians, and Arabs--differ greatly from one another in terms of gameplay style and available facilities. The main campaign spanning across twenty scenarios grants many hours of challenge and excitement. When it ends the game provides an infinite number of randomly-generated maps, and a solid multi-player mode. Celtic Kings: Rage of War is a great mixture of two genres - adventure and real-time strategy. In strategic mode, you play as either the Romans or the Gauls in a world where tactical and strategic maneuvers are the key to victory. In adventure mode you take on the role of Larax and the battle the warring tribes who have raided your village and killed your wife.

Accept the greatest responsibility and take the fate of entire nations in your own hands in Celtic Kings: Rage of War & Tzar: The Burden of the Crown, for only $3.58 on GOG.com. The special Gem Promo 70% off discount lasts until Tuesday, June 10, at 9:59AM GMT. Games also available separately, for $2.39 each. Games already owned count towards the higher discount rate.
Instabought. I'd like to see following Haemimont Games on GOG:

- The Punic Wars (2004)
- Imperivm: Great Battles of Rome (2005)
- Rising Kingdoms (2005)
- Glory of the Roman Empire (2006)
- Imperium Romanum - Gold Edition (2008)
- Grand Ages: Rome - Gold Edition (2010)
- The First Templar (2011)
- Tropico 4 - Gold Edition (2013)
Why is Celtic Kings $1.79 on the promo page, but $2.39 on the game page ?

Because you only get 70% off when you buy both, Tzar and Celtic Kings. If you only buy one of them you get 60% off.

Impaler26: I'm mildly interested in Tzar but i don't want Celtic Kings. Too bad they are only 70% off when you buy both.
Same here, Tzar seems the best of the 2, but the reviews aren't great for it too.

htown1980: I did not enjoy Tzar. The path finding is really bad and I found the game annoyingly grindy.
ugh..

Juhius: I recommend Tzar, It has couple small issues but otherwise it's great game, it can be brutally hard so only for RTS veterans.
Oh well, I'm usually shit at RTS..
Instant Buy, 2 titles off my wishlist, next.
Thanks for the promo, GOG! I instabought.

I'm a fan of RTS games and also a fan of history: Tzar should cover some good history I don't know much about. It's made in Bulgaria and Bulgaria has dragons, right?

One more game off my wishlist (Celtic). Don't know when I'll have the time to play it though (reading a 10000 pages book at the moment & playing Goodbye Deponia).
How does the adventure mode/part in Celtic Kings? Any good?

We have Zmei Gorianin,Hali and Lamias...but you could call our zmei gorianin a dragon yes.
The game is a fun fantasy RTS but don't take my word for it.Go find some videos on youtube or dig up a demo.

P.S if i am not mistaken it is one of the first games where every unit can level up and have "items".Gotta dig my discs up and refresh my skills.

Actually I was quite surprised by Celtic Kings reviews. Franky I did not expect anything above 7/10 so make your own opinion..

I don't trust much those sites, I usually check Mobygames reviews, some Youtube video and some "independent" opinion.
