I am not sure if this is good or bad

"Brian Martel, Gearbox Software's Chief Creative Officer, has great love and respect for Relic's brilliant, fun and innovative game and personally spearheaded the acquisition."

So much irony....I am remember something similar in an interview in regards to Aliens Colonial Marines when they were like "we are all big fans of the franchise and plan on putting a lot of love into it....or something along those lines.

yippee

If it wasn't dead before, Gearbox will be sure to kill it.

Are you kidding me? This is the best thing that could ever happen. I can't wait for the announcement that Homeworld 3 is a first person shooter set on a deserted planet inhabited by psychotic masked midgets. Then they'll wait for 10 years, pass it over to some unknown developer who will release it half-finished, and Youtube LPers will love it because they referenced a bunch of "funny" internet memes!. Homeworld is saved!

rip in peace homeworld
Randy Pitchford via Twitter:

"Homeworld Step 1: Bring solid, pure builds of the original game and sequel to modern digital PC platforms"
What are the chances that they will not release it on consoles?
If it is actually developed by Gearbox, I am excited. Games that are actually created and built by GB have all been outstanding, IMO.
If they start outsourcing it... then screw it all.
Well, seeing they don't have a great track record with anything not originally theirs, I can only hope they will do this game franchise justice.
Still, I will not write it off at once and say RIP just now yet.
good maybe for a digital delivery version (hope in gog) for homeworld 1&2

bad

gearbox...have you see what have done with Aliens: colonial marines?
Maybe Sega was actually the one who bought it.

Agreed they are good developers
However after Aliens and DNF (DNF not actually being them at all from what I am aware) you are going to see nobody saying that
Its a shame that people forgot Borderlands 2 so damn fast
